1. Elko
2. Lea

Not sure there’s anyone else who can win at this point. Just a helluva job by those two guys so far this season.

I said this last night to my game watching crew that Elko absolutely just secured coach of the year.

He just made a "elite" coach look like a HS coach. And others too...

it has to be Elko. He's done a great job there. No one saw this coming.

Lea by a country mile. Not to knock Elko, who has done a very good job this year, but Lea not only brought one of the worst teams at the FBS level back from the dead, he made them competitive against top teams.

Elko got handed the keys to a Porsche. Lea got a broken down Yugo.

Any name other than Lea is a joke…come on people. Elko is just doing what any coach should do at A&M.

So BK is elite now?

Jesus. Y’all need to pick a lane.

Gotta be Elko. Lea isn't responsible for most of the Vandy success. That would be Tim Beck, Diego Pavia, and Jerry Kill.

No. He's nowhere near elite.

Well, then Reed won that game for aTm last night, and Elko should get no credit for the win.

Based on your logic.

The edge this far in the season is Lea IMO.

Knocked off a1, gave uta all they wanted.

Elko is a terrific coach and I’m so happy we have him but this award is Lea’s at the moment. But let’s see how the rest of the season plays out.

No, Vandy has implemented Jerry Kill's offense, with Beck (a Kill disciple) play calling. Pavia just followed them there.

Beck and Kill bringing in their philosophy is what has allowed Vandy to not be Vandy. We have seen what Lea was capable of without their offensive philosophy and it's miles behind.

I give the edge to Lea but let's see how they finish. This is usually where Vandy folds up and loses out. Would be the same for aggy if they had lost yesterday. If Lean keeps Vandy competing and winning a few, give it to him.

It’s Elko by a country mile. Aggy finally bought the right coach and players.

To be honest I think the award is kind of stupid.

You're probably right that Elko or Lea will win it. But if UGA or Texas or Bama wins the national title, it's hard to explain why their coach didn't do the best job. I mean the goal of a coach is to win the national championship... if a coach accomplishes that shouldn't they always be the coach of the year?

This. And it really isn't a knock on Elko.

Lea. He's at Vandy with just a QB. Elko has an entire team of talent.
