Ole Miss is favored to beat Oklahoma by 20.5 points...

quote:

Oklahoma hasn't closed above a 17-point underdog since Nov. 7, 1998. That day the Sooners were 19-point underdogs vs. No. 7-ranked Texas A&M loaded with Dante Hall, Dan Campbell, Dat Nguyen, Shane Lechler among others.

They haven't closed as 20+ point underdogs since November 22, 1997 as a 24-point underdog against Texas Tech — that would be a total of 348 games ago for Oklahoma.

Looking specifically at the spread, Oklahoma under Brent Venables has been terrible when they aren't projected to blow out their opponent. As a single-digit favorite or underdog, Oklahoma is 4-12 SU and 5-11 ATS.

It is honestly rather wild how bad OU has been since Venables got there. I'm in my early 30s, so OU has been good since as far back as I can remember.

What's sad is that Ole Miss will cover.

What's sadder is that the OU fanbase isn't full of jerks, and they don't really deserve this.

It sucks that they suck and we won't really get to see a decent contingent of OU fans in Oxford.

My parents moved to OKC about 15 years ago. We tentatively rooted for OU as a kid because my grandpa played there in the 50’s. After moving to OKC, my dad now despises OU because of the fans. He is thrilled they are doing so poorly lol.

Are you sure? Seems like we were 22 point underdogs to Texass in the RRSO in Bobs second year and we beat them……..

I know we were 18.5 point underdogs to Sabans Bama in a bowl . The Sugar I think, and we beat them….

You may want to research the details i dont think you have this correct.

Not so fast my friends. Our offense has been rather arse flavored against any decent defense.

I'd take OU on this spread.

Ole Miss will make them look like playoff contenders, that is like our thing.

Ole Miss covers no problem I think. Can't see OU scoring more than 6 points

You're probably right, though it'd be fun to also see Ole Miss lose outright.

Ole Miss should win this game though, but this spread is really difficult to cover.

Well then Action Network is fake news…..We were 18.5 dogs to Bama in the Sugar Bowl and beat them and we where 22 point dogs to texass in the RRSO and beat them all more recent than 1995
