Ole Miss is favored by 3 touchdowns so I doubt it.

No. Too soon.

They better have improvements on the offensive side this week though.

Unless OU was getting a cut from Twisters box office, they can't afford to fire him.

Doubt it. With all of their injuries, I think he gets a pass this season.

Are they still stuck playing their 6-8th string WRs?? It's almost impossible to have enough depth for that

How well is he recruiting? If there's an influx of talent on the way, then he gets another year. If not, then it's not good news. Firing a coordinator mid-season is usually a desperation attempt at saving your own arse. So, to be honest, it doesn't look too good right now.

No. At this point I think OU has resigned themselves to accepting it will take a bit to adjust to the SEC. Venables is safe this year no matter what.

An experienced quarterback from the portal will probably be needed.

Venables will get at least one more year. As a lifelong OU fan I can’t say that is what I want, but since he was given a contract extension I don’t want to see people getting paid for not being here. JoeC, the AD is responsible for that fiasco. There was no reason to extend hs contract as no one was trying to poach him. Give him another year and if it resembles this one, then run him off. I think there will be a completely new offensive staff in 2025 because of his misses on his staff hires in the past.

I fully expect OU to right all of their offensive-side wrongs this weekend. WAOM is like gravity and the passing of time. It cannot be denied nor ignored.

All he has to do is hit a homerun with the OC hire. That will not only save his job, but Sooner fan sanity??

No but looking at their remaining schedule, a 5-7 finish in his third year would.

I suspect they’ll upset someone (I think it’ll be Bama or LSU).

Everyone was picking Texas to beat Georgia, so you never know.

Nah, this season is already considered a bust for us. We’re just waiting to hire an OC. Venables gets another year…

We're not pulling an Aggy and paying out $45 million for Brent. He'll get the right guy in at OC. Right now he just needs to focus on becoming bowl eligible. Winning this weekend will help that, but no Sooner fan is optimistic that we will win against Ole Miss, especially on the road. We'll keep running our gauntlet schedule and get what we can get and then regroup for next season.
