Any pre-season basketball poll that has Kentucky that low is suspect. I don't care how bad UK may seem they are an historic program. Texas, ND, Ohio State, and Bama always get that respect from a historic perspective in football, so why shouldn't UK be a perpetual member of the basketball preseason top ten based simply on name alone?

Obviously. Otherwise how would tOSU, Texas, ND, Michigan, Oregon, and Bama be perennial pre-season top ten teams every single year in football. It's all based on name recognition until about halfway through the season when it all starts to shake out.

Great state of Alabama hoisting the entire conference on its back and carrying it around as per usual, I see.

Is that why Bama and Auburn always stumble at the end?

Better watch out for Portal Moser this year. He had a great off season.

The league has gotten so strong compared with like 10-20 years ago. 11/16 teams in the top 50 in KenPom.

In the 2000s, it seemed like most years it was Kentucky, Florida, Arkansas, and maybe one or two other teams that had lucked into a solid team, and then the rest of the league languishing at 50-150.
