Clinging to a 1-point lead Oregon seemingly deliberately drew a flag with 12 men on the field thus using up precious seconds Ohio State needed to get into field goal range.

Ethical or exploiting a loophole in the rules?

Should this be addressed in the offseason?

To be clear, I am no fan of Ohio State but I absolutely hate Oregon and it pains me to see a former Sooner leading them to anything let alone a top ranking.

Lanning is a good coach, but he definitely gives off Kiffin vibes.

I thought penalties on defense under 2 minutes stop the clock at the original time the ball is snapped and penalties on offense are a 10 second run off?

What about the interception that wasn’t reviewed? You don’t put the game in the zebras hands. Also frick OSU

Coaches and players are always looking for advantages I’d say the exploited something the rules committee didn’t foresee. Needs to be fixed.

Didn’t watch but any defensive penalty stops the clock in final 2 minutes. Don’t know how that helps Oregon

It allowed 4 seconds to come off the clock. The opposing coach should have the option of taking the penalty or putting time back on the clock. That needs to be changed. I think they kinda got screwed on that PI penalty by WR at end of game too. Never seen that called before in that situation.

I thought if defense fouls they put the Time of the clock back to what it was when the ball was snapped? Is that incorrect?

It is called situational awareness and good coaching.

Something OU has been lacking for the past 3 years under BV.

I'm extremely happy for Dillon Gabriel. He made a wise decision. If he had stayed, he'd probably have a cast on his leg right now.

You should direct that hate toward your idiot coach that chose Jackson Arnold.

I can't get too angry with the OU coaching staff just yet. They are not the first program to whiff on a 5-star recruit and as for Dillon Gabriel, he knew the score coming in and was on board going to Oregon and playing at a school a thousand miles closer to home than Norman, Oklahoma.

My hate for Oregon runs much deeper and stared long before DG was the Sooner QB and BV was the Sooner HC.

He didn't do it on purpose, their defense was confused. They also made a stop on the play, the 5 yard penalty allowed osu to continue their drive.

Ohio State got five yards and their coach and QB didn't know the rules and the Referee started the clock. Had the Suckeyes known the rules they would have used a timeout or run a quick play. Lanning is a great coach and his players will play for him.

The problem with exploiting rule loop holes is there is no honor in it. It used to be people wanted a fair fight and they would prove they could whip the other team fair-and square. Now days people focus more on how to get a cheat code for the win. So its more about the W than the honor between 2 opponents. And that is the way society is going. They want to win at all cost and damn the self honor.

He was referencing Dillon Garbiel, Oregon's starting QB who played at Oklahoma last year.
