I haven't watched a lot of Kiffin teams and was expecting his QB to be more. Dart is a good college QB though. It is not meant to be an insult, Ole Miss fans.

They have in fact been proven to be losers but I wouldn’t say it’s in their dna. They have everything you need to win a title, out of all the teams that haven’t won a title since the bcs started I’d say they are the best suited. Massive fanbase that cares about football, nice recruiting areas nearby. I don’t think any other non winners have that. Maybe Penn state or usce, some years sc and Pennsylvania have strong recruiting prospects. Plus they both have nearby recruiting hotbeds that are fenced off(dmv and nc). Nd probably has the cache to get enough out of state talent but that’s it.

If UF is able to pry Lane away from OM, can you imagine the Gator howls whenever they lose to a Kentucky? And it will happen.

This is quintessential Kiffin. His teams are always hell on wheels but lays an egg or two every season. He is a very good coach but an even better play caller.

It wouldn't surprise me a bit, Lane never stays in one place very long. Having said that it's going to be a tougher decision for him than it seems. He finally built the Reb team he wanted (for the most part, some are one year rentals) and has recruiting going as well...but he will be facing a total rebuild at Flardah.
I remember Charlie Strong being hired at Texas in 2013 and thinking simply because he followed Mack Brown he was given the keys to a Ferrari with Texas Longhorn branding...and all he had to do was keep the thing on the road to win championships. Of course while the Texas brand was still a draw in recruiting, Mack in his later years had become lazy in that department and also left Charlie a semi-toxic environment. More than a decade (and 3 coaches) later and we are just now beginning to pull out of the funk. I'm not sure the Kiffster is the best coach to come into a similar situation at Florida...complete with meddling buffoons in the admin.
