do you think Saban looks at Pittman’s salary and thing about winning a NC in 03 and getting like 2 million.

I thought Mark Stoops was already 10 million

Mike Elko has a base of $7M.
Dang, Lanning is $7M a year, and he refuses to leave Oregon or interview for other jobs? That’s wild.

There should be a $2-3 million cap. Even that is insane.

I don't think there's any bubble to pop. There will always be someone willing to pay to win. Some willing to pay to turn the ball over.

I think this must be 2023 data. Drinkwitz’s contract extension signed at the end of 2023 guarantees him $9 million for 2024 plus incentives.

Out of all those millions dumped on coaches, only one current coach has any real ROI, and that's Kirby. I guess you could argue Dabo, but he's no longer a net asset to Clempson.
Looking at this list tells me one thing: I went into the wrong profession.

Interesting. 5 of the 6 highest paid coaches in the SEC are also 5 of the 6 teams still in the playoff hunt.

Lanning also gets Nike stock if he sticks around long enough, according to various sources. So it would take a lot more than just an offer for higher than 7 mil.
All inflation has been crazy these last couple of years but college football salaries is probably even more so. Everybody wants the next nick saban and is afraid to lose him to the next team, so schools are just paying dumb amounts at this point. Jimmy sexton just laughing all the way to the bank.

Jimbo Fisher is getting paid 7.2MM a year

And people lost their minds when Bama signed Saban at $4M a year.

It already has popped and they are just starting to realise it. Boomers were the big spenders at games and a lot of them have aged out.
