Against Kent State, UT Chattanooga, and NC State, they rank 104th in sacks with 4 total, 47th in team tackles for loss, and 96th in passes intercepted.

And this is against weak competition. Although Tennessee looked great last weekend, it was against Kent State.

Pump the brakes Vols. You haven't played any team with a pulse.

Are they as good as the Oklahoma offense?

Tennessee probably has talent on paper than OU on defense. I don’t know what he’s smoking.

FEI Defense: TN 9 / OU 13
FEI Def PPD: TN 1 / OU 12
FEI Def YPP: TN 2 / OU 14

Tennessee is better than OU defensively based on every advanced metric.

They haven't played anyone. I think the real question here is how good is OU's defense.

Oklahoma has a good to great defense, but if they are on the field all night the dam will break. Need to see what the injury report/rosters look like tomorrow.

This will by far be the best defensive line Oklahoma has seen.

Statistical analysis of virtually any team is meaningless at this point but especially with teams who have faced a schedule that provided them nearly zero challenge. UT has “cleared the benches” early on in all 3 games. Neither of you will know what you have until after Saturday.

Just curious - does FEI include SOS?

It’s really not impressive. In fact we don’t even know what it will look like Saturday. The starters have been rotated and rested in a very vanilla scheme to the point there is no great film on them yet.

2 lower division schools and a mid sorta fringe “P5” is just not impressive. I’m just glad we didn’t struggle with them

That’s just dumb, has Tennessee played a gauntlet schedule? No, but NC State was ranked and the game was on a neutral field. They are far better than Temple, Tulane, and Houston which were all home games. Tennessee beat them worse than Oklahoma has any of their opponents. Oklahoma may beat Tennessee by 40 but that’s a dumb argument
