Bo Wallace was a gamer in big games. Throne dances around like a ballerina while shitting his pants.

There was Good Bo Wallace and Bad Bo Wallace. I’m pretty sure there is only Terrible Peyton Thorne.

The good news is that Throne threw to 12 different receivers last night. The bad news is that only 8 of them played for Auburn.

Would Freeze would look like a completely different coach with an elite QB and a true WR1? Absolutely.

But the reality is your roster isn’t very good yet because you are still rebuilding from two coaches who sabotaged your roster while your big money guys shutdown your “NIL” fund for a couple years in a fit of self-destructive rage.

The good news is that they are back onboard and with the portal you should have an upper level SEC roster again within a year or two, but your issues go way beyond Thorne right now.

Peyton Thorne is only like Bo Wallace in that both QBs were prone to having absolutely awful performances. The difference is that Bo also could play well enough to beat multiple top-ten teams and lead us to three bowl games (winning two). Thorne doesn’t look remotely good enough to do either of those things

Peyton Thorne couldn’t carry Bo Wallace’s jock strap

He threw to Coleman when Coleman was trying to remove himself from the game because he was hurt. The ball was picked off.

That was my favorite Thorne INT.

No Wallace was great but busted up his shoulder and couldn’t throw the deep ball. So teams who were smart just loaded the box.

“Good Bo, Bad Bo” was invented by Gary Danielson and was kinda BS.

No, it wasn’t BS at all. Bo had over 60 turnovers in his three year career.

With that said, he was a great Rebel and gave the program much needed stability under center. He was terrific in some big games. He was also horrendous in some games as well. But he played hard and went 24-15 as a starter.

No. Bo was a gamer and was very emotional. A shoulder injury, that he didn't recover from, really limited to what he could do. I think at one point, he couldn't even throw the ball 40 yards. He played with a "gun slinger" mentality that would either lead to turnovers or big gains. He had some terrific games and some really lousy ones. But, he was a huge breathe of fresh air after the abysmal starting QB's we had several seasons before he arrived.

Agreed.

He was excellent sometimes, often at home.

Other times he was just outright bad.

But he was tough, stable, and a winner. Just what we needed.

Bo is looked upon very very favorably in Ole Miss fans eyes.

I don’t think that will be the case for Peyton Thorne at Auburn

And one of the first sacks was because the RT was trying to play with a busted hip.

I’m not sure if those are on the coaches or players for trying to play hurt.

Aubs eat their own better than any other fanbase. Just ask Terry Bowden.

At his best, Bo could carve up Bama’s defense and make anyone’s defense look like a joke. Other times he would look like he wouldn’t start for a high school team. He was better more times than not and the best thing about him that wasn’t talked about enough was his leadership. His leadership and toughness are why Freeze and our program was able to turn around as quickly as we did.

I think Thorne has good tools but he’s not as mentally or physically tough as Wallace and doesn’t seem like a leader.
