Harsin inherited the Bronco’s new starting QB and a fairly talented roster with some holes.

Freeze inherited what was left of that roster after Harsin ran them all off.

I feel like harsin inherited a better team.

And he’s done well there and in recruiting.

Except for QB, which is the most important positon.

So again, Auburn fans experience confusion and pain during football season. It’s our burden to bear.

Based on recruiting rankings, Auburn and Freeze have had a top 20 roster each year.

2023 Talent Composite - Auburn #18

2024 Talent Composite - Auburn #18

For comparison, Harsin’s two teams were ranked #14 and #18.

Auburn has too much talent to not even be able to go .500. They have way more talent then many of the teams they lose to, teams like New Mexico State and Cal.

The good news is that Auburn fans have saved a bundle on toilet paper.

Auburn should go ahead and lock Freeze into a long term guaranteed contract. He will have one really good season every 4 to 5 years. It just doesn’t look like this season will be it.

Auburn fans can spin it all they want, those numbers don’t lie. 2 of those 8 losses were to Maryland and New Mexico St by a combined score of 62-23.

But Freeze didn’t help with the game plan in those games, or against Cal. He helped in the off season against Alabama A&M, and you saw how good they were. Surely Freeze won’t go 2 years straight of not game planning every week like Harsin went without recruiting, right??? I’m sure AU will be fine and at least be competitive against Bama/UGA and maybe upset them since Freeze can be bothered to help with those.

What are we spinning?

Our biggest hindrance is Thorne. Yes, that’s on Freeze to use the portal to find a quarterback. But the majority of our team is improved and recruiting has moved into an all time high for us.

I’m not sure if Freeze can get the job done at all. We’re still set up better for success right now than we were with Harsin. That guy was literally burning bridges in his short time as our head coach.

Your biggest hindrance is Freeze. He’s ruined his first two seasons by shopping at the QB bargain bin. Hard to recover from that.

What the hell has prevented Hugh from buying a portal QB?

AND a ton of NIL money to back any play he wants to make in the portal. Hugh begged and campaigned for more $ and the boosters provided it.

Freeze has been living off of “I beat Nick Saban in back to back years” for almost ten years now. It’s amazing how differently he would be perceived as a coach if you took away those two wins.

One of the best recruiter in football and a well below average game day coach.

QB with experience see through Freeze’s “aww shucks lil ole me” song and dance.
