I thought LSU was supposed to have this great OL
They were well below average in run blocking.

The defense was improved mainly because the only way is up from the bottom
I guess they could be the same
Seemed like they were only good when they brought lots and lots of pressure.

It was a great game though. Very enjoyable.

Still not sure how good or bad either of these teams actually are to be honest.

I would guess they are in the 15-20 range.

Bama's OLine had similar hype last year. We know better than most to temper expectations in that area.

Also, FSU's Dline was highly touted preseason before they got run over in back to back games.

I'm seeing a pattern here.

Kelly looked like General Patton in that presser. I don’t see us dropping another one this year.

They are very good in pass protection, but have not proven anything in the run game. Honestly our RB runs haven't been very good since 2019 and that was because defenses had to respect an elite passing game, and CEH was ridiculous at making guys miss. JD5's scrambling in 22-23 made our rushing stats look way better than they really were.

Yep. Went from a total shite show to simply below average. Nowhere close to the level of LSU's great teams of the past. We don't have the dudes and probably won't until 2026 or so.

I think that's fair.

Seems like revisionist history, the vast majority of the Alabubbas here were swearing the offensive line would be great and that it had three first round picks on it.

Already had one drafted in the first round from it.

Proctor and Booker are probably going to be as well.

That's certainly Baker's forte.

I'm sure he'll get them in better shape as the season goes on.

The thing that keepsme from thinking he'll be a home run is that he benefitted tons from the culture Drink installed (believe me, Drink's ability to do this is gonna be celebrated nationally, sooner than later).

Brian Kelly just plain can't do that. He went from a MAC team back in the day when football culture was still more old school, to ND where the culture is pre-installed for you. At LSU you have to actively parent kids to an extent you don't have to at other univerities because they achieve the talent level they do by not caring about recruiting thugs.

I like how you avoided talking about how undisciplined we are on and off the field.

It seems as if you want that to continue by not mentioning it.

You jerk.

It's your school's best win in a decade or more. You will be watching these highlights well into your retirement.

People will downvote, because of who you are. But this is a fair take. I will say the strength of the o-line has been pass blocking, run blocking not as great.
