I was pleasantly surprised by Towns McGough. That young man did an excellent job last night. I was also pleasantly surprised by the way the offensive line played and to see the receivers performing so well. Anybody else have something that exceeded your expectations?

The offense as a whole surprised me tbh

I had a feeling Thorne was going to be a senior sensation like Jason Campbell was.

I think Towns has a bigger leg than McPherson. He was booming the kickoffs almost into the stands and the PAT’s were going over the net. How was that kid not ranked/recruited?

Did Nix call all of the plays last night?

I agree with you on the Oline. Based on the last several years, you never know how those guys are going to show up in a game. Let’s see if they can keep that up.

I’d also say I was pleasantly surprised with the freshman receivers. This was the biggest stage they’ve ever played on, and they didn’t shrink from the spotlight. They’ve got a bright future.

Granted it was A&M but it looked like a different offense entirely

He was the top ranked kicker on the 247 composite and 3rd overall on Kohl’s. He very much was ranked.

You are right but it’s weird. He wasn’t ranked in the composite until January 31st this year. So when he signed he was unranked.

Hard to take much away from that game, but the receivers were noticeably different than anything we’ve had since maybe 2017.

They just look different.

Woodyard. Dude played great last night. I've been waiting on him to bust out and this may be his year.

Kickers are one of those things the mainstream recruiting services don’t ever do well. You have to find a kicker centric one like Kohl’s for practically any news on them.

Personally I was surprised by all facets of the game last night. I know it was just Alabama A and M but we have had a tendency in the past to play down to our opponents levels.

Got the Auburn Bump for kickers.

Remind me why Lambert-Smith left Penn State? Dude was just around the ball and has sticky hands.

Defensive line. Yes it was a weaker opponent without much push from their o-line, but it seemed we were very fast up front and in their backfield all night.

The physical look of our defensive line.

Muscular, lean, fast.

Obviously there will be a step up in competition this week so we shall see.

But their bodies look ready.

They were very run heavy last year. Freeze sold him on coming here helping lead the young WRs and we are gonna sling it around.
