not sure if that list came from your head or from someone else, but have you heard of Shaq?

D-Mac should be on this list of at least honorable mention.

Probably Peyton or Eli at this point with how much they’re in the media. If we are talking football only. If we include all sports it’s probably Shaq

Shaq, Charles Barkley?

This list screams geriatric.

I don't know if I would recognize a photo of Bear Bryant if he wasn't wearing his hat.
I don't know if I'd recognize a photo of Johnny Majors period.
I wouldn't have recognized Archie Manning until Peyton became famous.

I doubt most folks know what position Bear played.

This is a list for Boomers and Gen X
The only 3 half the country can relate to, and Steve is stretching it.

6. Peyton Manning

In my expert opinion, this is a terrible list. How many people out of 100 in the US know who Johnny Majors is? You need to get out more.

Recognized by who? If we're talking mainstream fame and limiting it to football players:
Peyton Manning is severely underrated on your list. I'd actually have him 1 or 2.
Was Bear Bryant that big of a deal to the average American? I know how he is viewed in the Deep South but would a Middle Age woman in Delaware walking down the street have recognized him?
If we're talking fame this list fricking sucks.

You could make the argument that Manziel was the most famous and recognized SEC player during his time in the SEC.
