“Where is State on the list?”
List is sh*t. State is the best manicured campus in the SEC. Ole Miss is nice but definitely second fiddle to State.
State is the best manicured campus compared to Alabama, Auburn, Florida, LSU, Vandy, Tennessee, Texas, A&M and Kentucky.
I have not been to Oklahoma, Georgia, Arkansas or South Carolina so I can not make a valid comparison with those campuses.
Again Ole Miss’ campus is nice but not nearly as nice as State’s.

And the 6 columns stand for the number of virgins who graduated, or so the story goes.

Good to see Missouri up there. The quad is special.
Totally. Our athletics are what they are, but I will die on the hill that the Golden Girls and our campus are in the elite tier of the SEC.

Honestly State does have a pretty underrated campus, a lot of people I think drag it down because Starkville is pretty meh. But at the same time while having a well managed campus does help it doesn’t necessarily make it a beautiful campus.

Ole Miss is like Augusta National...Every flower is in its perfect place.
It truly is a Country Club campus.

It’s not even in the top half of the former SEC West.

I’d try and argue for Arkansas, but the University went through a yellow brick square building stage that hasn’t been completely torn out yet.

I have learned that "best manicured" is what people who are arguing for campuses that have a lot of grass and hedges... but are short on trees.
Which is exactly how Mississippi State looks.
Ole Miss is all foresty looking and state looks like a "well manicured" and nicely laid out military ground.
Just a different look totally than Ole Miss.

Also fun fact: the old administrative building was burned down by an electrical engineering blunder shortly after Thomas Edison founded their first EE program west of the Mississippi and arguably the first in the nation.
Well that was awkward.

Oxford is great except for game days. It is cheaped up on game days.

I am not surprised to see SMU on the list. It’s a pretty nice campus too.

It was before Louisiana had ever seen a proper light bulb.

State was a land grant university and there was a military component to it in the early days. But the campus looks nothing like a military post in the current day. And there are plenty of trees as well.
In truth most college campuses have a lot of beauty to them. Urban schools are certainly at a disadvantage compared to schools in small towns or more generally rural areas.

I am not a State fan, and I agree. It's just overhyped. Nothing special at all. You just have well placed people who push the narrative, and people who have never been there go along with it. Your campus has some nice stuff, and some horrible looking garbage, and everything in-between. Just like all other campuses.
