Arkansas Baseball…

I know they are currently ranked #1 for the next 18 hours, but are they really the #1 team or even top 5? Outside of Hagen Smith(best pitcher in NCAA) who else do they have? Their pitching staff is good, but the hitting is the complete opposite. They gonna win most times Smith starts, but looking at this weekend, UK is exposing the other Arkansas pitchers. Also Arkansas hitting is in the bottom half of the SEC.

On Base PCT- 8th, .390
Runs scored- 9th, 329

What is everyone’s prediction for them the SEC Tournament, and NCAA Postseason?
Also is Van Horn the biggest choke artist among other current coaches in the SEC? DVH has been a D1 HC for 26 years and has not won an NCAA title. He’s been at Arkansas for 21 years now, and still no college World Series title. Is Arkansas content never winning the baseball title with DVH, or will they finally get tired of him and finally force him into retirement. It looks like DVH is gonna waste another great talent with Smith the same way he did with Kopps.

I agree with you about DVH, but I don't like Tony Vitello and he has a losing record against us so I wouldn't get too cocky. You'll lose in supers again!

As much talent as any team in top 5, with a bit more pitching. Hogs just need to get hot at the right time. Can win it all,

DVH usually tweaks things at this point to get their heads out of the clouds so they are playing their best at the end when it actually counts

State & Ole Miss both rode 1 dominant starter + bullpen by committee all the way to Championships.
Arkansas definitely has the starter. Just need more thump from anywhere in the lineup to make a run at winning it all

I think Arkansas is a Top 15 team, not a Top 5 team for your exact reason. They will win the game Smith starts almost all the time, but they will struggle the next two games.
Arkansas also started the season playing literally the worst teams in the SEC and struggled at times. Since they have gotten in the back half they have lost 2 of their last 4 series. They will lose at A@M.
Good, not great team. Likely host a Regional and Super, but will be bounced in the Super.

No one is going to force DVH into retirement. He has done well enough to leave on his own if he wants to. I'm just content he isn't Mike Martin and Arkansas isn't Florida State....yet.

Obviously new baseball fan. Without even looking I know UCLA won the World Series in 2013 and hit 250 with less than 20 homers. There are other similar champions It all depends on who gets hot and how the breaks fall. That’s what makes baseball interesting. Anything can happen.

I’m no Arkansas fan but having the best pitcher in Baseball and top 10 in every possible statistical category is pretty damn good. Last year, LSU was good, but I think most LSU fans would admit, without Skeens throwing 100+ every pitch, they might not have won it all.
