I give a shite about schools who have a BCS/NY6 bowl win.

Yeah let’s move the SECCG to nearly the farthest west outpost on the edge the conference footprint instead of keeping it within manageable driving distance of 80 percent of the schools and their fans. Because Texas, or something.
I get the sentiment and as an Alabama fan living in ATL I want it to stay here too. But I don’t think you realize just how far west the conference has shifted geographically and in population. We lost GT, and the only eastern expansion to replace them has been adding Carolina. To the west we have added a massive footprint of Arkansas, Texas, aTm, Oklahoma, and Mizzou. The geographic center of the conference is now near Memphis.
By doing nothing along the Atlantic coast, the conference isn’t truly southeastern anymore. Its more of a deep south and southwestern split.
To make Atlanta the dominant city at the heart of the conference again, the SEC needs to lock down the Atlantic coast with teams like UNC, Clemson, FSU, and maybe VT.

Atlanta is closer for all but these towns.

By the end of this decade, the SEC will have announced the HQ is moving from Birmingham to Westlake.

This is not a matter of concern for MiZZZou fans.

Somebody is a few years behind in knowledge. Check the map. Irving Stadium is now a flat piece of dirt.

It will move to Nashville before Dallas

You have lost your fricking mind if you think the SEC will voluntarily move the game out of Atlanta. The only way that happens is if…the ACC collapses. The SEC office recognized the importance of that game being played there and kept the ACC out of the Dome

I was talking about the Buckhead station on the Red Line. The Red Line was built for the Olympics.
I bet you were already drinking Metamucil by the time the 96 Olympics occurred, you geriatric frick.
That is absolutely FALSE. The Buckhead Red Line Station was in MARTA's master plan BEFORE the Olympics were even announced that they would be going to Atlanta which happened in September/1990. It wasn't built specifically for the Olympics. It, along with the Medical Center and Dunwoody stations, opened in June/1996.
Better a geriatric whatever than a diaper-wielding, pacifier-sucking, slurping Gerber baby moron.

Sorry, but when it comes to accommodations, attractions, and access (top 3 criteria they consider), Atlanta beats DFW all over the place
I doubt that.

Atl is SEC..
Cotton Bowl in the rotation for qtr final minimum every year..every 3 for semis..probably a natty occasionally as well.
That will be enough of the Big D

Expansion has already done that

1- Do away with SEC Champ game long term. First round of playoffs will replace. It ends up being a liability to winning natty.
2-As long as it isn’t determined until like a week before (at times), it has to be in a major city that has hotels and adequate transportation.

Also, isn’t it ironic that the SEC was the first league to play a CG and is now a far superior conference and a more iconic brand than any other conference in America?
FIFY

Fair enough. With Texas and Oklahoma coming this is even more true. Hell, all the big schools in Texas plus Arkansas were part of the SouthWEST Conference until 1996 (Arkansas left in 1990). Still, moving the game to Dallas permanently is a ridiculous idea. There’s just not a viable neutral site between Atlanta and Dallas that makes sense and Atlanta is closer to more of the conference schools, especially the charter members.

It was nothing more than a money grab by Kramer. As soon as other conferences saw the windfall they jumped into the feeding frenzy. The SECCG was never designed to put the 2 best teams together to decide all the marbles. When it happened it was just dumb luck.
So here we are on the eve of the 12-team playoff and in year 32 of the SECCG this will be the first time we actually can guarantee the 2 best teams play each other. It's somewhat ironic that now the SEC teams that happen to avoid this game could be better situated in the playoffs than the team that loses this game. Only college football.

I’d like to see some evidence of this “all over the place.”
And I like going to Atlanta… It’s a great city to visit.
But I’m talking airport options, hotels, venues, roads and traffic.
