Maybe but I think he'd rather be at Kentucky if all things were forgiven.

Beginning to think KY made it where he wanted to leave. As in they were squeezing his balls real tight. Smart move.

Agree. (You can't exhume Adolph.)

Sounds like us with Muss
Not sure why we all can’t agree that both programs are better for it. Sorry to the rest of you
The one he's responding to just hates Kentucky. That's all that is.
Both things can be true:
- Because of Cal's last 5 years, he lost a lot of goodwill at Kentucky. He had the opportunity to win that back and lost to Oakland. At that point it became impossible for him to go forward at Kentucky. So Kentucky fans are good with the mutual parting of ways (especially when it saves us a shitton of buyout money).
- Arkansas was put in a weird spot with Muss leaving when he did. And this is the best possible hire they could make. Cal may be alright with a new scene and new situation.
I'm like you, it works out for both of us. Anyone spinning some idiot narrative that Kentucky doesn't have the money is silly at best.

Didn't we see this with Tubby, too?

He got bullied out by the fan base. Insane. I hope the next coach at UK knows what he’s getting into.
This was being discussed today on sirius. Kentucky is one of the top jobs in college basketball, but it also is the most demanding. The fan base needs to be fed success 365 days a year.
When you look at a Dan Hurley, they said he has the chops and ability for the job, and he probably is the type to want the challenge, but would be a definite consideration vs UConn.

I'm still banned from that place for defending thug comments about arkansas players back when Bobby Portis played for Arkansas. They hold grudges long or nah?

for those complaining about the Cal / Nil problems... Same here. Muss wanted all of the power and got played often. Burned bridges with TYsons, Hunts, among other donors He was toast.
As long as he wins, he is elated.. but when losing, he is a petulant child who quits and goes home for less money, smaller arena, less fans, etc.
Cal is looking for a resurgence and ability to control the narrative, he found it.;; we are happy to oblige. KY will probably do very well with a hire, but this late in the process with recruiting, etc They will need too I dont see Hurley leavign Ucon for that furnace in KY. But who knows?

He’s a cheating scumbag, but now he’s our cheating scumbag.

Does anybody seriously believe UK wins more games than Arky next year?

Why hasn't there been anything said from the UK side during all of this?

A 65 yr old coach, set in his ways and used calling his own shots but can no longer win enough to satisfy the fan base would be hard pressed to change his ways and get back on track.

UK fans are likely elated to see Cal head to the Hogs.

Agree. Cal has underperformed in recent years. Muss left Arkansas with zero scholarship players. We literally have no team.
Calipari with $5-6million guaranteed minimum NIL money will fix that with quickness.
UK gets to move on and save $38 million or whatever the buyout is and get some fresh blood to revive the program, or at least the big donors will to give.
UK fans should be thankful that Cal went and found a job vs. doing what most coaches would do and force his firing to get a big fat arse payday. Instead, y'all get to keep that money to go get a new coach and players. It's the best way to part ways where both parties win.
We'll have great talent with Cal. We'll win at a much higher rate than we have since Nolan left and hopefully the change in scenery will stoke Cal's fire to make another run or two.

Exactly like us with 60 year old Muss. Exact same scenario

My dislike goes back to when he was at Memphis state but has waned over the years. I’ve posted to Kentucky fans on here that they needed to get rid of him because they should be the bell cow of the conference and he wasn’t getting it done.
I’m going to put my love of the basketball program over my feelings about him and move on. Under the circumstances with his recruiting ability he is the best hire we could have made,IMO, at this time to avoid a disaster of a season next year.
Hopefully players will follow him here. It’ll be interesting to see what happens.
Go Hog!
