Your mom’s a pretty good coach. She taught me a lot.

Some other names that deserve to be discussed

Everrett Case - Created the ACC tournament and made southern basketball a thing. Won 6 straight ACC titles
Frank McGuire - not only had a perfect season at UNC, but is the reason Dean Smith was there. Also took SC and put them on the map

I dont think they are the best, but deserve some mention imo

That is true, we stole away Foster after McGuire stepped down, they went after coach K

toss up between Adolph Rupp who was 'retired' due to age rules after 42 seasons ... and Clarence "Big House" Gaines after his 47 seasons -

Rupp gave CBB the 'fast break' ...the coward in Chapel Hill gave CBB stall ball until the shot clock was forced to be adopted to save the integrity of the game -

Everrett Case
I knew of Case and wanted to add him to the list but no NCAA titles made me decide not to add him.

Frank McGuire
My neighbor was a huge UNC fan and liked to tell me about meeting McGuire.

That was an ingenious strategy that won a shitload of games and 2 national titles. Dean is the best and it is not even debatable.

Krzyzewski has two more final fours and three more national titles. Saying it’s not even debatable is stupid as hell.

Fast break offense vs Four corners. Adolph Rupp vs Dean Smith. One made the game better, the other one made it unwatchable.

Rupp and K are both better than Dean Smith.
Better style of ball, both won more championships.

He wouldn’t have been special at UGA without his booster buying players.
