In my college/early 20s era I always heard “never leave your drink unattended” rule if you happen to be a girl. Made total sense to me.
But roofying dudes randomly? Man, that was just not a concept anyone even thought about. And like I said earlier, I’m less than a decade removed from that chapter of life where I routinely boozed socially

this part is chilling...officer turns around and he's already vanished. he barely missed whatever happened. and whatever happened it happened there bc his phone stops pinging and he is no longer picked up on security cameras.
This is incorrect. His phone stops pinging under the next bridge down. It’s also just not very good quality video and he was wearing dark jeans and the back half of his shirt was black. I guarantee the officer saw him with his own two eyes. There have been people videotaping down there at night and it is much brighter than it appears in that video.

While I personally got sick of that lifestyle by the time I was 25/26 and have not gone boozing downtown now since the pandemic era began, don't get me wrong, a night on the town in Nashville can be awesomely fun. However, there is some serious systemic issues overall with how things are ran down there. One can go from having a great night out to having things turn disastrously on a dime
The best defense is not being a drunken idiot. Don’t understand getting blackout drunk if you are older than 20.

The fact that his frat brothers have lawyered up so quickly leads me to thinking this could possibly be a hazing incident? One person said they actually drove by him and asked him if he was OK. He was on speaker phone and the person on the other line said "He's fine", and told him to keep walking straight. Strange.

I mean these days a roofy doesn’t need to have sexual intentions. Especially nowadays if you just look at someone wrong maybe you get roofied because you ‘disrepekt’ them. Trust no one.

There is something sketchy about the fraternity brothers behavior, but I doubt it’s a “hazing” thing as we understand that definition in the classical sense. Dude is/was a senior about to graduate. Not that I’m some grand guru of all things fraternity culture. But as someone who actually was in a big SEC school fraternity myself that knew/knows hundreds of other guys in fraternities all across the SEC, I’ve never once heard of fraternity hazing for anyone other than freshman/pledges.
A better guess imo would be that perhaps one and/or a group of his “friends” thought it’d be a funny prank to to slip him something when he wasn’t looking not fully understanding the horrific ramifications it could have led to ultimately. And now they are rightfully scared shitless of what the ramifications could be long term.
But even that theory to me sounds pretty wild. I just say that because I never was exposed to or heard of anyone actually roofying someone. Like I assumed that it went on occasionally I guess, but it got to the point where myself and my friends and I concluded that the “roofying” college culture must be more of a modern Internet urban legend. Nevermind how the concept of guys “roofying” guys just for shits and giggles was totally nonexistent. But I guess I was wrong perhaps knowing more about the accounts that has been coming out of downtown Nashville recently
However, obviously something isn’t squaring up with the actions his fellow fraternity members have taken recently.

True I guess, but who on Earth out there is actually carrying around “roofies” in their pocket just in case they decide they want to drug whoever for whatever reason? Perhaps I underestimate the scale of depravity some folks around us operate under. That whole mentality is just something my brain has a hard time accepting could be a thing because ideas such as that are so foreign to me

100%. However some folks-including myself-don’t start to fully grasp that concept until our brains fully develop at 25/26. I get why guys in their early 20s are still blacking out if they are apart of the continuous environment of social binge drinking from late HS onwards thru college.
Nowadays I only drink at weddings, holidays/vacations, and tailgates in the fall. I wouldn’t change my past, but I definitely don’t miss the days of drinking to get drunk multiple nights a week from like age 18-24. Poisoning your body and feeling like shite the next day after just ain’t what life needs to be about

Have they pieced together what he ordered at all the bars? Beer? Liquor?
Was his crew drinking all day? (I was in downtown Nashville for the first time in 20 years in October and I would say after 2 the bars started filling up and the "pedal bar" street tours were overflowing.
As far as drugs - doubt he was drugged at a bar, but if they were involved, more than likely taken of his own accord (acid? hell I don't know what kids take these days)
That one video where he was crossing the street...he could barely stand up. Wonder if he went to to find a place to vomit and fell or got swept in.
I feel like there are way too many eyes around there for a group of people to mug him, take his clothes, etc...

I’m sure they have much more video and details than they are releasing right now.
Yesterday, a kid was missing downtown for a couple of hours and hotel security and metro PD found him within 20 mins of arriving
/being called using their cameras and surrounding business security cameras.

The NY Post says that a body was found in the Cumberland River near 61st at 7:30 am. No identification has been made.
For some reason, I couldn’t link the article.

They found him. No signs of trauma or foul play. Weird.

It’s not weird, it’s exactly what most thought. He was drunk and probably fell in the water and drowned.

I can’t imagine being drunk enough to fall in a river while walking home. I could see falling out of a boat or something but not wandering into a big arse river.

Yeah, so it looks like the #1 theory we all thought happened. Kid fell into the river drunk off his arse

Yep. “No signs of foul play”
Captdolton wrong yet again. I’ve never seen anyone swing and miss more than him.
