Memphis has the best food? WHERE?!
The only correct answer is Louisiana (blues, zydeco, birthplace of Rap in the south) everyone else can fight for the rest

You omitted Sun (Elvis Presley) and Stax records..
The original Sun records studio was the best tour I’ve ever been on. Discovering Elvis is a drop in the bucket to what went on in that building.
I’ve heard if you end up with some kid instead of the 50ish short guy, it might not be as good though.

The crap coming out of Nashville is not music but noise.

zero
(I mean...there are some musicians that multiple states have a legitimate claim to.)

First would be soul food at Alcenia’s. After that, any bbq except rendezvous. Ya I make better ribs at home, but it’s tough finding them that good everywhere.

Venues have to include the Temple Theatre and the Grand Ole Opry House of Mississippi (NKA The MSU Riley Center) in Meridian, MS.
The acoustics in both theatre’s are as good as there are anywhere. Plus the seating is like you are sitting in your own living room. Very intimate. Great places to listen to a concert whether it is the Blues, Rock, Country, Jazz, Gospel etc.

And the musicians from Meridian are off the chart.
David & Jimmie Ruffin
Haley Williams
Steve Forbert
Parker McGee
Paul Davis
Jimmie Rodgers
George Cummings (Dr. Hook)
George Soule
Chris Ethridge
Todd Tilghman
Track 45
Scott McQuaig
Al Wilson
Pat Sansone
And a Guru of all things music is Ken Rainey.
Not bad for a small city.

Best musicians, sure. Unfortunately, the title says “destination” so you’re kind of disqualified.
