Nearly every team plays a 4-2-5 defense for a significant number of plays every game.

Feel like that’s not super rare but either way it’s a 3/4 loss team. They know it, we know it, just like we knew we’d be in trouble in 2020 but wanted to hold on to a great season. Difference was we won a title. Actually last time we were as lucky as Bama was this year (2007) we won a title too.

Georgia and Texas A&M are about the only teams with the personnel and scheme to take advantage of a lighter front in the SEC these days.

Regardless, Alabama spent most of 2023 in 3-3-5 or 4-2-5 anyway.

Everyone plays some variation of 4-2-5 for some plays these days. This isn't 2009.

But who knows what Alabama's base D is going to be with 6x Co-DCs...

So a nickel defense? You realize that's pretty much the base defense that most teams run now, right?

Is LSU going to have one of those this year?

Alright Buddy Ryan, what would you rather them play? A 3-4 ? A straight 4-3? 3-3-5?

Pretty sure everyone knew Bama was at least a 3 loss regular season team last year.

The crying on this board by rival fans will be epic this year. Can't wait, LOL.

It's called nickel. It's everyone's base defense now

What defense is Baker going to run? He is sticking with the 4-2-2 LSU used last year?
