I think it's very optional. I paid my tuition and got a degree. I'm not donating family funds to take care of athletes. That is all.

You don’t have to give money to care about it. It’s not a child.

Paying for cable or streaming services to watch the game is enough. They literally get TV deals.

Also, you on the SEC Rant and wondering why people care about sports… I mean

Such a wise and thoughtful idea to post on a *checks notes* college sports board.

I don't see what the big deal is. Select, well-to-do/in-the know fans have been bribing recruits for decades. Now everyone gets to participate and people lose their heads over it like its a big deal. You're just upset b/c the high school coaches loyal and funneling funds to state players all of these years are now irrelevant and big bro is cleaning house.

There are varying degrees of "give a shite". Most people are content to go about their daily lives, watch their teams compete, hope for the best, and dare I say congratulate their opponents when they win. There are people who just enjoy watching sports and appreciate good teams and athletes whether they have a dog in the fight or not. This message board is a different animal. You have people here whose entire self worth is wrapped up in whichever team they root for, and whose existence revolves around trolling fans of other programs.

I mean I won't donate to NIL so I'm with you on that. I'll buy season tickets though because I enjoy the games with family and friends.

I agree and it's certainly easier to rationalize that perspective given the current college sports environment.

I’ll not donate to nil either, but we buy plenty of Razorback shirts, hats and other items with the logo and I’d imagine they get a cut from that. Plus going to the occasional games which they have just about priced me out of.

I’ve got my own bills to pay.

This is not where I thought the thread was headed. I thought you were going to rant about the facade that is college sports in its present state. I could get behind that. But this is just… a State fan being a State fan.

My buddy is a State fan. He says the same shite.

Your school could use a little help on the academic side though.

Sir this is a Wendys.

Sounds like someone forget this is a sports board...and is coming to the realization that his schools shitty alumni is never going to scrounge enough cash compete in todays NIL landscape.

Mississippi State simply doesnt have enough alumni with "frick you money" to compete with big brother TSUN Ole Piss.

Bend over and take this prickly Reb Bear Land shark dick.

Most of the State fans I know end up in this mental space.

I'll still watch 10-12 hours every Saturday in the fall and continue losing my hair over UF football but I wonder if Spurrier or Meyer could have the success nowadays with NIL and the portal they had in the past.
