He was arguing and didn’t understand why the SEC Website had their current standings different than his…not realizing it was based on the overall record of the team if they were currently tied. He thought he was smarter than all of us…but made himself look foolish.

Yeah, you’re either misunderstanding or misrepresenting what I’ve said.
The only thing I’ve said about those standings is that they are irrelevant.

Well, they’re not, as they’re sorted by overall record - which isn’t used by any tiebreaker for any purpose and is a completely arbitrary method of sorting.
If it makes you feel that much better to not see Alabama at the top, go for it. It doesn’t change anything.

It is just as arbitrary as your method for sorting the tied teams as has been pointed out and you’ve agreed to.
