If you are looking for a challenge then float the Cossatot River.

French Broad.

I’ve had some great times on the French Broad, but the section that runs through Asheville can get a little nasty with pollution. Can’t speak on the Tennessee part of it though.

I’ve always been biased toward the Nolichucky.

There’s the Mississippi, then there is everything else in the continental US. Absolute no-brainer on what the greatest river is.

Yeah it's kind of like asking who was the greatest rock band from Liverpool.

Paddle faster! I hear banjo music!!!

Seriously, it would be harder to find one more beautiful than section 3&4 of the Chattooga, maybe Tallulah Gorge or Little River Canyon in Alabama

Why is there no UK thing on the Tennessee River? It forms Kentucky Lake in… Kentucky.

While we’re at it, the Kentucky River is awesome. Limestone Palisades through the bluegrass offer great hiking and boating views.

Love that river.

Have been on it many times, over the decades, having lived (owned a mountain home) in Jonesborough/Johnson City for so may years.

Saint Francis River.

I think of the St. Francis as two completely
different rivers in one. 495-miles long , it
begins in the eastern upland ancient volcanic
area of the Missouri Ozarks ---- cuts through granite boulders , then into the swampy "Sunken Lands"
from the New Madrid earthquake and a slow moving muddy stream before joining the Mississippi.
