Annual Thanksgiving Matchups with this Schedule
Alabama vs Auburn
Tennessee vs Vanderbilt
LSU vs Oklahoma
Texas vs Texas A&M
Arkansas vs Missouri
Ole Miss vs Miss State

Georgia vs Georgia Tech
Florida vs FSU
South Carolina vs Clemson
Kentucky vs Louisville

I realize LSU vs Oklahoma isn't a traditional rivalry, but both need a Thanksgiving matchup and I would like to see them try it out for 4 years. If it isn't working, then we come up with a new plan.

I think everyone else will be pretty happy with all 3 of their permanent opponents. Missouri vs South Carolina is the only other "weird one" but they have played every year for the last 12 years. The other option would be Missouri vs Miss State, and that doesn't make much sense to me.

TLDR: Yes, yes I know. If you don't like the permanent's for some reason, what would you change? I like this format because it offers balanced scheduling..

They should be NO permanent games. Everyone rotate through everyone else.

Wouldn't it be simpler to home in home 2 years in a row?

I think the purpose of this thread is to guess further schedules and discuss the scheduling. If so, props.

I am more of a fan of one permanent rival every year. It would keep the iron bowl going and Tennessee and Bama also. Every other game is rotational

Don't know why folks want to place Oklahoma with LSU as the post mentioned they are not traditional rivals. That part is true. However, Arkansas is a traditional rival of LSU and we've had some great games during the Thanksgiving weekend. Mizzou and Arkansas are the ones that are not traditional rivals but Missouri and Oklahoma are!

Why force the AR/MO issue at all?

It should be the two rivals and southern state schools Arkansas vs LSU and the two midwestern state and former Big12 rivals Missouri and Oklahoma.

What is so dang hard about this??

I'm in favor of any schedule that fixes the error of dropping the annual MS State-Bama game.

I honestly don't mind Mizzou, but it makes absolutely no sense for one of South Carolina's permanent opponents to be 14 hours away.

I don’t know why there’s this fascination with OU playing LSU. They’re playing two of the top teams in the conference in Mizzou (confirmed) and Texas (unconfirmed), they could actually use a weaker opponent.

Oh that makes sense.

This is pretty well thought out, but I honestly see no reason the SEC should go to 9 conference games. Most of the conference already schedules at least one attractive P5 OOC game (looking at you, Aggies), and you still have the 3 smaller home games.

Until TV agrees to pay for it, there's no reason to give 8 conference teams an additional loss.

The one thing about this scheduling process that absolutely needs to happen is that every team in the conference plays every other team at least every other year.

That works. Keeps the schedule fresh.

I'll miss divisions. Should have just moved Auburn and Bama to the East, and move Missouri to the West.

West
LSU
Mississippi State
Ole Miss
aTm
Arkansas
Missouri
Oklahoma
Texas

East
Alabama
Auburn
Georgia
Tennessee
South Carolina
Florida
Vanderbilt
Kentucky

Play 7 division games + 3 rotating cross-division, no permanents.
You would end up playing everyone every two to three years, then switch the host.

LSU’s will be bama aggy and om

Saban bitching is what’s kept the 9 game schedule from implementation already

This is all too confusing. The SEC should just dump the Big 12 schools and go back to a 12 team conference.

You see the strongest team in the conference, Georgia, playing Georgia Tech on Thanksgiving each year. This is a farce and gives the whole thing ZERO credibility.

Despite their claims, Georgia Tech will not beat Georgia in the next 30 years.

Georgia has been a great team but with a fairly easy schedule, avoiding Bama, LSU, and others.

Until there is some parity with a nine game conference schedule, most schools will not buy in.

If you are Auburn, why have to play Bama and UGA annually? That "oldest rivalry in South" is just BS by Georgia to give them another annual cupcake.

Assign Oklahoma or Texas to Georgia for some parity and maybe people will listen. Or just create something that is fair for all.

Your efforts get an A+ though

Oklahoma is our permanent and any deviation from that is fricking stupid.
