I think it's a huge let down to from Saban to Deboer... That's just not what I'd expected to follow the goat and carry his program forward.

The only guy who could’ve possibly not being a drop off after Saban is Smart and there was ZERO chance of that happening

What did you expect? Sark to leave Texas or Kirby to leave UGA?

Hell, sark isn't even the home run garauntee.

Yeah, well, Saban can't replace himself with himself.

The only coach in your reasoning would be Kirby and he’s only beat Saban one time.

There is no replacement to come close to Saban they never will be or not for along time anyway

Saban tried to get the Wash OC (Grubb) last year, so I think Saban has a lot of respect for what him and DeBoer are doing at Wash.

Words cannot fully convey the dumbness of this post.

Holy shite. It's as though you don't follow football outside of Alabama at all.

You can't seriously expect to replace someone who is considered the GOAT by someone equal. How many coaches are out there who can come close to Saban? Pretty much none, because he's the GOAT and GOATs don't grow on trees. Only Kirby would be a guy that can take over and stay at Saban's level. So, let's please be a bit more realistic.

Is Kalen DeBoer a sexy hire? No, but he seems a pretty good coach and has earned his chops.

These are the ridiculous expectations that we are ridiculed for as a fan base.

Did you think Andy Reid was going to roll into town, maybe Sean McVey with Kyle Shanahan as OC?

Get a grip. If it is DeBoer, then were getting one the likely best 5 coaches in college football right now.

Newsflash...anyone is a huge letdown from Saban. But, think of it this way. The upside is that Debeor has won everywhere he has been. He uses the same words to describe his team like relentless effort, grind, overcoming adversity, competitive character, doing things the right way, holding people accountable, etc, albeit less animated and intense. He seems to really be a player's coach which is probably necessary given today's coddled youth, and really essential transitioning from Saban to a new coach. He appears to be a humble guy, who mentions his mentors along the way and always looks for new mentors (hello, Saban), and always trying to be better everyday. I really like the way he explained his offense in that it would look really complicated to everyone else but really simple for the players executing it to understand. It will be a very QB centric offense (jess Sayin).

The downside is zip because if it doesn't work out, we terminate him and hire the coach we need after the coach that followed Saban.

Like you can just call up someone and say, “Send me another GOAT.” The very word GOAT conveys rarity and exclusivity.
