It’s Lanning or Kiffin. Kiffin wants it bad. Thats what I know right now. I think Lanning is the one who decides.

I honestly think this is the best case scenario. In my mind anyways. The last two to three years I have had a list. The consistent names on the list were Lanning, then Kiffen/Sark. Any of those three and I’d feel extremely happy.

Something interesting I just found out, DeBoar has an extension on his desk for Washington and hasn’t signed it. Maybe he is going to at least interview.

Honestly wouldn't want DeBoar.

If it isn't Sark, then Lanning, I need Kiffin

Deboer would be a fool to not interview if offered the opportunity. Even if he wanted to stay it would be a bigger extension.

Maybe just waiting on the idea of an interview. I’d kidding would want it, I’d hate to go a different direction, other than lanning. Call me crazy, but I would take kiffin over sark too.

Kiffin

Several names out there would be areat replacement but for me Kiffin has the balls to actually think he can follow Saban and keep us in the hunt. He is also not phased by the boosters, fans, or other SEC teams For good or bad you need someone that will not feel the pressure.

Exactly. The most meticulous coach in the history of the sport who invented the “process” and how to lead just woke up and decided to quit? GTFO BOL are idiots, stop reading that drivel. 20MIL is too much?

Bad news, guys. Belichick is out as Patriots HC so Bill O’Brien is now available.

Great coach - too bad he didn’t go out on his own terms like Saban

I don't know why people love Kiffin so much, other than he's funny on Twitter. He's a great coordinator, but he's not a great HC. He lacks most of the qualities that it takes to run a consistent, top program.

He was waiting for the Bama job to open up.

Best-case scenario is that a plan has been in place for quite some time, and there is no need for anyone to “be in Tuscaloosa” at midnight.

When the media cycle has completed, at a favorable time word will come directly from the AD, which is what he has already indicated.

Think back to GB’s previous high-profile hire and ask yourself which “insiders” speculated that Nate Oats would be the next basketball coach.

Seems very out of character for Saban to just up and leave without a carefully planned/handled exit.

There is something to be said about someone who wants to coach at Bama that bad.

Even if you don't like him you have to admit he is one of the best options.

He also has no desire to go back into NFL and sees the Alabama job as his peak destination; meaning if he is good he is going to be here for a long haul.

Lastly, while his personality may not resonate with you it does with the kids he is recruiting. With the Alabama machine and Saban's blessing behind him our only issue would be who his defensive coordinator would be year to year.

Ha... ironic that was the issue for me with Saban. He was perfect and adapted. He could have won four in a row if Texas just didn't take Sark away that season.

This is the part that doesn't make sense. I don't understand why he was interviewing coordinator and other jobs vacancies up until late yesterday morning. It's like test results came back or something that made the decision for him.
