Very happy to have Kadyn back. He will leave Bama as an excellent OT and graduate to the Pro’s.
It was unsettling to lose him, Bonds and Downs. Welcome back Kadyn and Roll Tide.

I'm hoping he drops about 40-50 lbs in order to work on his quickness.

I asked in another thread but can he transfer immediately and participate in Spring Practice?

I believe he has to wait until April 13th for the portal to actually open to transfer, and A-day is April 15th, so my guess would be no.
I suppose if he never enrolled at Iowa he could go anywhere, anytime, but I don't think that's the case.

No, the portal doesn't open again until April 15th.

he can transfer immediately because of the transfer lawsuit.
Second time transfers don't have to wait till a window.
edit: downvote all you want. It's the truth. He already entered the portal. He wouldn't be able to do that until April if there was a restriction. There is a case pending in front of the Supreme Court regarding transfers, and the NCAA has waived transfers rules until that case is over.
"immediately eligible to participate in 24-25" is the key phrase

Multi-time transfers in football and other fall sports who transfer before the end of the 2023-24 academic calendar will be immediately eligible to participate in 2024-25, the NCAA clarified this week in guidance sent out to schools.
Last week, the organization announced a change to the policies for spring and winter athletes, allowing multi-transfers to compete immediately. The NCAA said the decision was “the best outcome for multiple-time transfer student-athletes wishing to compete immediately.”

That is great but let's see how he does with the lights on.

I think you're misinterpreting what the preliminary injunction says. It doesn't give athletes the ability to transfer whenever they want (except grad transfers can enter the portal whenever they want).
It's only saying that if an athlete transfers during the 2023-2024 academic calendar, they are eligible to participate in the 2024-2025 season without sitting out.
He can't transfer before April 15th because the portal is closed. However, if he transfers during the Spring portal window, the 2023-2024 academic calendar hasn't ended, so he'd still be eligible for the 2024-2025 season.

He already entered the portal, which means it is open for him. Meaning he doesn't have to wait to transfer.
School enrollment rules maybe a bigger issue at this point.

Show me where you see that he's officially in the portal.

Where are seeing that? Not disputing it, I am only finding reports he plans to reenter in April when the portal opens.

it was a Scott Dochterman tweet last night, but now I can't find it.
He is an Iowa beat writer, but he was wrong about a ton last night. He claimed Proctor was keeping all of the Iowa Swarm money too, but the collective stated he never received a dime from them this morning.
Maybe he is waiting till April after all. I'm sure we will know more this week.

I'm sure it's nothing but, is it weird that Caleb Downs is following Alabama Football and not Ohio Staet football on his Instagram?

NFL players will unfollow their own team if they are unhappy. For all we know he’s leveraging for more NIL money
If life were a movie, Saban instructed guys to rob some schools blind, only to transfer back to Bama as evidence of how shitty the system is

I wouldn’t pay any attention to that. Downs will stay in Ohio state with the money that they offered him.

Seeing Georgia playing a schedule that's actually worth a shite is really going to take some getting used to.
