Florida State's coaching staff and players should be humiliated after the weeks-long temper tantrum they've had. Talent is a gift, but character is a choice. Florida State has shown a total lack of competitive character over the past few weeks and got what they deserved today. One thing that has become clear is the massive culture problem that exists in Tallahassee. Kudos to the playoff committee for not caving to the mob and putting the best teams in.

It was clear in the ACCCG they were not a legit team.

Combine that with the fact theyre the ones that voted down going to 12 teams this year and yeah, they should have kept their mouth shut. They look like clowns now. Good. ??

As an FSU alum, I agree. There was zero pride shown from the team, and the effort in the first half was putrid, even if they were second/third string. Vandy's second string could have done better than a 42-3 halftime score.

Ohio State had some players sit but mostly played, same with Penn State, UGA had a few players...but to have the entire team literally sit is a slap in the face.

How many actual starters was FSU without due to opting out?

According to ESPN

“The Seminoles played without their top two quarterbacks, top two running backs, top two receivers, starting tight end, three starting defensive linemen, two of three starting linebackers and three starting defensive backs. They were down 29 scholarship players in all.”

Obviously that’s not all due to opting out, but clearly they were at a disadvantage. Earlier this week FSU players were talking about being crowned champs if they finished undefeated…so, glad to see the score of this one.

Kirby did us all a service today.

All the opt outs made me even less sympathetic to them. Their players didn't care enough to try to finish undefeated.

Many of their opt outs were literally standing on the sidelines in sweats watching their teammates get demolished. Shitty culture

Georgia could of had a lot of players opt out too but most of them didn’t and they beat their asses

During the bludgeoning, it was hilarious listening to Jessie Palmer talk about what an impressive win their victory over Louisville was.

My wife (no pics) is an alum as well as a few other members of her family. They are pissed that Norvell couldn’t get his players to buy in and play like Ole Miss, Mizzou and others. The only one that seemed to want to play was the 3rd string QB who, will probably leave when they announce the new QB transfer portal pickup who is supposedly already on campus. Mercenaries play for money, not team.

Somebody should’ve asked Norvell why Libertys players weren’t quitting on their undefeated season despite getting left out as well.

This is state of college football. NIL as we know it has destroyed the game of football. You can't give just a little bit, People will always want more. Players are being paid millions before they show their worth.

I don’t get why opt outs are on the sidelines. That is a shitty look.

It’s like signing up for a bar brawl, then deciding not to fight but showing up to watch your boys get their asses kicked.

Agreed. If you opt out then you should move on and focus on the draft. Don’t be a distraction for the team.

They aren’t “opt outs” they are quitters, it’s past time to stop sugarcoating what they do.

Exactly. Bryce Young and Will Anderson played in the Sugar Bowl last year when they could’ve opted out. But they were great team mates and didn’t.
