All the concern about Deboer's recruiting

Posted by Sam5 on 1/12/24 at 5:00 pm
Our best receiver is looking to get purchased by Texas. How's that for recruiting? Barring new rules, CFB will soon more closely resemble a league where contracts are laid out and then the recruiting comes down to 1-3 schools depending on things like tax rates, your QB if the recruit is a receiver, your OL if the recruit is a QB, etc. Campus feel, "they have my major," pretty hostesses and photos on the visit are much less important than it used to be. Rosters resemble basketball more, where as you noticed we had something like 3 players come back and you have to learn every year who the players are.
It's a smart move to emphasize elite technical and scheme coaches ahead of the Dameyune Craigs. Elite programs need GMs and personnel handlers - the AD and staff have enough to do as it is. Saban might be good at that by the way!

The qb doesn’t know how to set protections or anticipate where the blitz may come from. Doesn’t look at hot reads.
A phenomenal athlete who is very accurate but from here on out he will be tested every game and it’s fortunate Simpson is now as experienced as he is because if Milroe can’t figure it out we will need him.

FSU players: we will make a statement for justice
FSU fans: Let’s hold off on 2024 season tickets.

If we win this game

We will probably learn afterward that the staff had double digit calls with locksley, given they did well against Michigan a few weeks back and are playing Auburn.

I would hope we can do as well or better than the 24pts they put up.
Criminal that he was coached to 2nd team all SEC last year
Will Anderson has 9 tackles and a sack through 2 games with the Texans = his coordinator wasted him last year. Would love for Turner to get to that level over the course of this year.

Slade "Chris Reier, the White David Palmer" Bolden is our Heisman hopeful and we are trying to get him as many touches as possible.

Great question. Probably sitting on the 50 yard line among the Tennessee boosters in Neyland during 2016's 49-10. They were #8 but experiencing some injuries and despite Kamara it was a merciless massacre.
Second place Vandy 59-0 one of the most lopsided games I've ever seen.
Is it me or was this article written by AI?
Like calling him John Metchie III and making up random anecdotes that the machine read about other receivers and not mentioning any particular games.

Players who have rushed for 2,000+ yards in the NFL and won more than one rushing title:
- OJ Simpson
- Eric Dickerson
- Barry Sanders
- Adrian Peterson
- Derrick Henry

DH had a solid college career too!

Among the many differences between 1992 and 2020 is you could do a dance after a td. D.O.L would imitate Sanford after his scores. Check out the first ua to drive in the seccg

Comparing 2020 vs 2009 vs 1992

Posted by Sam5 on 1/16/21 at 12:29 pm
Our undefeated seasons:
1992:
Ypg:363
Ypg allowed: 194
Avg score 28-9
Barker passed for 1614 yards and Fred Sanford ran for 905. Opponents averaged 55 yards rushing.

2009:
Ypg: 403
Ypg allowed: 244
Avg score 32-12
Ginger passed for 2508 and Ingram ran for 1658

2020:
Ypg: 542
Ypg allowed: 352
Avg score 49-19
Mac 4500 and najee 1466. We're not in 1992 anymore.

I do believe the 1992 and 2020 Florida teams were similar and this year's Florida scored twice as many points. Imagine if Erick Rhett were on this year's UF team

In case you missed it (defense related)

I don't get HBO so this youtube video was the first time I got to see the Saban Belichick documentary. If you go to 19:00 Belichick is asking Saban how to manage certain defensive schemes.

Easy to forget he's one of the best defensive minds in CFB history. Really just a function of teaching the concepts in a timely manner to the players.
If history is any guide, the hire will be a totally average NFL washout (Daboll, Sark) who will turn brilliant- that tends to happen with all 4 & 5 stars - or a total failure D1 head coach (Locks and Kiffin, hon mention Kyle flood).
Coach will ride them like rented mules and get excellence before they ride off for greener pastures in 2-3 years

This is just Hightower all over again, except Hightower was a tad more productive after the injury. Some team will get a steal in the 4th round and he could have 60 tackles next year. Wish his peak performance could have been this year for us but can't have everything and if we squeak past osu it won't matter! In meantime maybe we see a bit more of 42 on passing downs next week now that its obvious to everyone to go after him.

Good question. Dickerson had a lot more carries for his season. He may come short for regular season but not a bad effort

In case some did not notice, he may end up with the best season for a rb in NFL history.

A Donta Hightower story relating to 32

Posted by Sam5 on 12/20/20 at 10:47 am
A friend passed along that during the 2010 season Hightower was so stressed by his level of play that he couldn't watch hos own film. He knew his knee wouldn't let him do what he wanted but he was still the guy in the middle. I dont know what McMillans issue is but thats what we seem to have with 32. I will stop airing my frustrations with him him here and hope he can have even half the success down the road as Hightower had. Perhaps he'll take advantage of another year in college to improve his money to get there but we will see.
