Good for him!

Oh you mad..
What a POS selfish little thug sitting out of the bowl game. He’s representing the college game in a horrible way after winning the heisman. Awful and it’s all LSU culture.

LSU is full of quitters in life
This shite is gonna come around to everyone's teams.
It's going to make bowl games useless unless for playoffs.
HOWEVER.... it may bring some serious interest in backup players that may should have been looked at all season. I think that could bring some fun banter and excitement for some teams at the end of the year.

This. If LSU doesn’t want their Heisman QB to opt out, maybe they should’ve played defense so the bowl game would matter.

Because we see it in the NFL, and it will be the same.
It is nowhere near the same. Name one NFL team that sat a healthy player when homefield advantage in the playoffs was at stake.
Hell forget home field. If there had been a 12 team playoff this year, and UGA was guaranteed a top 5-6 spot regardless of the outcome of the SEC game, do you think players would've sat vs Bama?
Now if you talking about opting out, that is a different animal than an NFL team resting players.

I am this thread's OP and I am not trying to troll LSU fans. I would have been disgusted with Bryce Young had he opted out of the Sugar Bowl last year, just as I was with Trevon Diggs and Terrell Lewis when they opted out of the Citrus Bowl against Michigan in 2019-20.
Ask any of them whether they give a flying frick.

I'm sure they don't. And therein lies the problem.

People getting butt hurt over Jayden not playing in a meaningless bowl game is so funny to me. What's the school going to do for him if he gets hurt playing a game that means nothing? lol. So why would he care about playing for his team when nothing is on the line?
Jayden go play for your tigers one last time and risk injuring yourself and ruining your future NFL career so some grown men can cheer for you once more!!! GEAUX Tigers, woo!!!

By this logic, he should have opted out for the remainder of the season after Alabama beat Kentucky and wrapped up the division. He could have just as easily been knocked out with a devastating injury in the first quarter against Georgia State - a meaningless game against an even more meaningless opponent. He had already made his point by then.

Bama’s Heisman winner played in the “meaningless” Sugar Bowl with his teammates, went 15-21 for 321 yds and 5 TDs to help destroy Kansas State. He later was the overall No. 1 pick in the draft. It’s a different mentality that some kids at some schools just don’t possess.
“For me it was just about doing everything I can to help the team,” Young said. "We had pride in how we played and how we prepared — us wanting to finish, us wanting to push ourselves and hold each other accountable.”

playing for the Heisman and higher pick in the draft made the games meaningful

Does nothing for him if he dislocates his hip or breaks his leg against Georgia State.

Had already been secured. He played lights out against both Alabama in a loss and Florida in a win. Games against a terrible Georgia State team and a fading Texas A&M team weren't going to alter what scouts already thought of him.

I've only heard LSU players say former coaches trashed their reputation to scouts for leaving early.
Jalen Collins speaks candidly about Les Miles trashing him to scouts when he declared early after his junior season.
Les Miles sabotages former LSU CB draft stock.
