It's not official until a fan hands him a baby.

That’s a lot of energy early on. Sounds like he’s got a plan and is looking forward to getting things started. Biggest fanbase response I’ve seen. Early signs in a recruiting turnaround would be a good litmus test. He’ll probably start quickly with the recent decommits and will likely pull a few impact transfers. Players seem excited. He’s got a few pieces to work with.

I have now realized you are probably not even a real OU fan but just another internet troll . . .but here we go.

OU AD apologizes

quote:

Briles, the father-in-law of Oklahoma offensive coordinator Jeff Lebby, was on the field in an Oklahoma shirt after the 28-11 victory. When asked about Briles’ presence after the game, coach Brent Venables said it was “being dealt with” while Castiglione issued a postgame statement.

“I was just as disappointed as many of our fans who I learned of the postgame situation tonight,” Castiglione said. “It shouldn’t have happened and it was my expectation it never would, based on boundaries we previously set. I’ve addressed it with the appropriate staff.”

Local Norman Newspaper

LINK

quote:

It’s unclear the extent of what Lebby knew about what was happening in his then-program. But a lawsuit from a former Baylor student alleges Lebby had direct knowledge that a player had assaulted her, and that he took no action and made no reports about it. The player allegedly assaulted the woman twice more in the following weeks.

The Oklahoman reports that after Briles was fired for his role in the Baylor scandal, Lebby continued to defend his father-in-law, and made t-shirts to support him.

For a program of OU’s caliber, it should be extremely easy to hire men who haven’t faced allegations of ignoring and trivializing domestic violence that happened right under their noses. There are plenty of them. It’s very easy not to hire anyone intimately associated with the most disgusting, tragic scandal to ever occur in our conference.

So who will Mississippi State replace him with in 2026? Tennessee's defensive coordinator?

He’s bring the Air Raid back. If successful, he’ll retire there.

Why would Lebby leave after winning back-to back-to-back national championships in Starkville?

Don't you have your own coaching search to be concerned about?

I think everyone got solid hires, maybe not flashy. This kind of stuff doesn’t make it to ESPN, but both will have the fan bases support. Arkansas should have pulled the Band aid off and hired a new coach too lol.

Next time read what’s in the articles your making yourself look embarrassing. You took all that time to basically prove exactly what I have been saying …..
You posted you said venables was making up excuses for him in a press conference …. …. I told you not one time did Venables make excuses for him …. He told everyone he wasn’t suppose to be there and just like I fricking said our ad told everyone it wouldn’t happen again …. So once again stop with your lying fricking bullshite . It was the OU fans who were pissed that night, I know becuase I was there at the game .
You stupid fricks need to learn to read and comprehend . You the biggest troll on the site trying to spin this off as if Venables was covering up for him . Everyone knew it before he was hired. . Btw just becuase your related to someone doesn’t mean your that person or done anything wrong . Hes paying for something someone else was accused of and guess what still tk this day Art Briles hasn’t lost a court case on this matter .

Jimbo had someone on staff that molested people … not a relative

Arkansas needs to hire a Therapist first. They have some deep seeded depression they need to work through.

That was a pretty nice, small town welcome. It was no Collette Tongue in Ear welcome but, it was okay.

I think Lebby is a good hire.

He's made some mistakes and baffling playcalls, sure, but all OCs do. More importantly, he's shown that he learns and corrects them.

His clock management has improved. He rarely ever goes hurry-up and three-and-out in 44 seconds while leading late anymore. And he did eventually stop calling the jet sweep just for funzies after it failed 38 out of 40 times. He just wanted to be absolutely certain it wasn't working. That's what I call thorough. Now we all know, thanks to him.

I'm kidding (sort of). I really do think he's a quality coach who will continue to master the game, and I hope he has success as a head coach.

I also have a lot of respect for Zac Selmon, and I don't think he would make that hire just as a favor to OU, where he will take over as AD in a few years. Right?

Again, kidding (mostly).

Mojo, to be fair, for some reason On3 mentioned that the Art Briles thing will come up at MSU, and that MSU doesn’t care. They will squash it. But in the process of reporting that, On3 is the one bring it up! Happened on the last coaching update podcast.

“And just like that, the forward pass was born” what they will probably be telling their kids about this hire.
