It did seem extremely strange that the cameras kept showing all these GCU fans. I know Alabama had a number of fans there too. But don’t recall the camera panning the crowd in their sections.

I really hate losing to UNC, but even if we lose, if the players don't give up and do their best until the end, I'm 100% satisfied with this season. Because the results of this season were better than I expected and the rebuilding is going well, so we will be able to maintain continuity.

Next years team should be even better, especially if we can keep Sears.

Anyone else shocked the line is so low? I thought it'd be -7.5/8.
Not sure, but ESPN's BPI analytics says this:

If we could somehow come out loose and fast Thursday, I think we can get them.

IMO, UNC is the worst 1 seed, maybe by far. Doesn’t mean they can’t whip us, but I can also see a scenario where we run them off the court.

Going into the season I thought a 4 seed would've been great. We got the 4 seed and now advancing to the Sweet 16, any win after this would be huge. Also with Auburn already being eliminated, I just want to see anyone but Tennessee win it now and then we're golden.

Only time I remember them showing Bama fans was when they showed Mark Sears’ mom.

It also helps that we can just stay out West and they have to travel and acclimate since their first two were in Charlotte. We can definitely beat them. Gonna need to be hot from 3 and get Bacot in foul trouble early though.

Wonder if this was the screaming banshee from last night? I’d never hit a woman but she’s got one of the most punchable faces I’ve ever seen.

To be honest...

If her son averages 27.5 this upcoming weekend, I don't care if the broadcast acts like she is the only Alabama fan in the stands.

Against UNC, we need to be bold and gamble on defense. The target is Elliot Cadeau. His 3-point shooting percentage is 16.7%. I hope he continues to play sagging defense, even if he gets lucky and hits a few 3-pointers that day.

And since Cadeau and RJ Davis's defense is not based on length and athleticism, I think Estrada and Sears will be more comfortable than they were on offense against GCU.

And I don't think Armando Bacot's defense is that good. His defensive range is narrow and not as fast as you might think. If Nelson and Stevenson can each hit 2-3 3-pointers, they could really trouble UNC.

But the problem is the referees' foul calls.
If you look at the game between Spartans and UNC, Spartans really played its best until the 10th minute of the first half, but after that, the referees started switching from hard calls to soft calls, and UNC got easy free throws. There is nothing we can do about this, but we have no choice but to make the most of Nelson, Stevenson, Wague, and Pringle's fouls. As long as they don't do And-One, I think it will be a successful defense, and it is important to drain Bocot's stamina as much as possible.

There will be moments in the second half where UNC players will run out of steam and the interior and perimeter defense will be weak. At this time, Walters and Mo.D can become X-Factor like yesterday.

Should be a good game if Wrightsell can go. UNC has only played one team in the top 30 in tempo and lost (Kentucky).

It's wild that UNC has an older roster. I remember the days of one and dones consistently on their roster.

With Bama making the S16. This season is a success. We are witnessing Oats building program prestige in real time.

I apologize for being off key at this time. Just really wanted to give a shout out to the Alabama Women's Basketball team. Making it to the 32 and giving the number one seed Texas team at basically a home game for them a run for their money all day yesterday shows which direction this team is moving. Congrats on a successful season and trending up.

Happy 59th Birthday to Avery Johnson.

This is going to be the year he hits puberty.

I just know it.

It is interesting how NIL and unlimited transfers are actively destroying football but is, honestly, making basketball a much more enjoyable sport for all tiers in D-1. More teams with veteran squads that know how to play basketball not just the run, jump, and shoot parts.

It is wild that UNC is older than Alabama. We're loaded with junior and senior transfers. The fact they've kept their roster together is no doubt related to NIL paydays being better than taking a stab at the NBA but ending up in Europe or Israel.
