I remember years ago Arkansas played multiple games in little rock. Now they play only one. What was the reason for not playing as many games there anymore?
Do you like playing both in little rock and Fayetteville? Which stadium do you think is nicer?

is this a real question?
As an outsider who has been to both venues, pretty much every conceiable aspect is better in fayetteville

Hell no.
It’s not on campus so can’t host recruits. No comparison between the two stadiums, lol. One is a dump. The other is great and on campus.

War Memorial made sense back when it was 2 lane highway to Fayetteville and took forever to get there plus there wasn’t much of a local population there back then.
Same way with MSU playing in Jackson back in the day. Trips to Starkville before 4 lane highways were miserable
There is no point in doing it now

Little Rock sucked the big one. The stadium was trash but the fans in Little Rock are awful.
Fayetteville is always a great trip, and the fans on campus have been great.

Central Arkansas people love listening to the gnashing of teeth and sky screaming coming down from the hills.

The ONLY people who enjoy LR games are trashy T-shirt type fans that ONLY care about getting wasted outside the stadium, and rarely go inside the actual games. Its always been extremely cheap to tailgate there, and extremely welcoming to all types of fans.
The stadium is embarrassingly bad.
Little Rock is a shithole city unless you're upper middle class and can pay your way around the problems.

I-49 was completed in 99.
Before that you had to take the Pig Trail to get to Fayetteville. 24 miles of slow curves.

It was a fair question in the 80s when the stadiums were comparable:
Not so much anymore.

Not so much anymore.

WMS was awesome in its prime. It could still be great with a good team to play against instead of cupcake U. Playing a game every year in cowboys stadium is ridiculous
. If they are going to close the WMS era I would have 1 last game against Texas not Arkansas state, than bulldoze the stadium

Texas has a winning record at both.

Once they expanded Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville to 72K, the handwriting has been on the wall. War Memorial in Little Rock has about 50K. For a long time, Arkansas played 3 in both places, because WMS was bigger and Little Rock was easier to get to than isolated Fayetteville.
Northwest Arkansas has gotten so much bigger now, and it's now connected to the rest of the state by an interstate. Little Rock money and media made Arkansas the top program in the state, but WMS is just not as nice and Arkansas can't host recruits there since it's considered a neutral site (I think). The tailgating scene outside WMS used to be a lot of fun, but now it's turned into a bunch of surly drunks.
I hate to see it from a historical point of view and from usage for WMS, but it's time to move the games to Fayetteville IMO.

You missed his point completely.

Yes it's our secret guilty pleasure. Little Rock is our little slice of heaven

Used to love WMS and LR..... all it took was going to 1 game in Fayetteville to change my mind. No comparison. DWRRS is light years ahead of WMS.

Prior to the creation of I-49 and the expansion of DWRRS, Little Rock was the premier facility in the state.
It held more people than DWRRS and was much easier to access than driving up the pig trail.
Now, WMS is like walking through the Lower 9th. ITs a dump, the turf is old and we always come back with a lot of leg injuries when we play there.
I grew up going to every WMS game but its time to tear that dump down. Leach was even quoted as saying its the loudest place he's ever played.

Arkansas stopped playing one game a season in Little Rock with the 2019 Missouri game. Since then, Arkansas has only played UAPB in 2021 and Western Carolina this season. There is one other game scheduled in Little Rock, when Arkansas meets Arkansas State in 2025 and that will likely be it.
Arkansas was scheduled to play Missouri this season in Little Rock when the agreement was announced back in 2018, but the SEC will not allow leagues games to be played in the stadium.

Yeah we do.
People that LIKE WMS games: drunks, SE AR baws, tailgaters
People that HATE WMS games: NWA folk, Opposing teams & fans
We need to play all the games in NWA, BUT WMS atmosphere, for an equivalent game, is more hostile and louder than RRS.
