LSU/MSU/Arky fans called it.

The closer it gets to OUTex coming in, the more aggyMizz starts breathing heavy and slam-typing OPs.

I think Texas will soon realize how good they had it in the Big 12 and if they had stayed, been part of something special.

Texas A&M fans are well known for whining about big bad Texas, but I honestly wouldn't have taken Missouri fans for such pussies. They took their beatings pretty well in the Big 12. I wonder what's changed.

B1G took fricking Rutgers over you guys.

quote:

When University of Missouri officials talk about the Tigers' athletic future as it relates to the Big Eight, they use words like "content" and "satisfied."

They bring out the superlatives when that future is related to the Big Ten. "The Big Ten is uniformly high-quality public research universities," Chancellor Charles Kiesler said. "That's what we think we are. When we compared ourselves to other universities, we don't do it to the Big Eight. We're much more likely to compare ourselves to the universities in the Big Ten."

Kiesler and Athletic Director Dan Devine, attending the NCAA convention, are making no effort to hide their interest in joining the Big Ten.

There is no indication the 11-member Big Ten has a reciprocal interest.

No shite.

I don’t think it will happen, but if they did run away because they couldn’t cut it in the SEC, that would probably permanently damage their brand.

I actually think the SEC will help tu’s profile unfortunately, OU is really going to be hurt.

That being said, in the Big Ten’s unending march to a national wide conference, why would they not try and lure away tu? And if there was enough money, would tu say yes? To play USC, Ohio State and possibly Notre Dame(who I think ends up in the B1G) every year? I kind of think they think so highly of themselves it would be hard to turn down.

I think they would love to say, “we are the one Texas brand in the only elite national conference, the B1G”. But I don’t think the odds are great.

I hope they don't at this point - I'd rather 14 other SEC football teams just go ahead and finish beating their program into perpetual mediocrity for the entire CFB world to see - Vanderbilt is welcome to make it 15 -

kill them off as Nebraska has been killed off -

back behind 14 other SEC football teams in the league standings - again

Great. When Texas goes independent, the SEC can kick our Missouri and get to an even number of teams.

Your ignorance on public display. Texas will never go independent. It’s all about the money. That’s why they can begging to join the SEC. But what they will do, is immediately try to take over the SEC to give themselves favorable advantages. Then, as they have proved so many times in the past…they will push to remove the bottom schools so that Texas can get more of the money. They aren’t even in the conference yet, and as seen many times on the rant, they are already talking about how to run the SEC and who “belongs.”
