We don’t have a good enough lefty starter to throw at LSU.
Maybe you can borrow that Mathews kid from Stanford..it seems they don’t care how many pitches he throws …and they will probably just use him again when needed…win-win

Why do you think you need a lefty starter?
LSU has a .305 batting average against lefties. That’s the best in the conference and a higher average than anyone's (sans LSU) overall team BA
Lsu has a team BA of .314. I don't know the split of facing R/L but lets assume 75%/25% RHP/LHP. That would mean Lsu hits .317 vs RHP. If I can drop their BA by 12 points, I do it if I can reasonably.

Deep baseball depression. Only Jose Abreu's recent hot streak has kept me afloat.
I gotta say, the Gators side of the bracket looks pretty favorable. Almost too favorable.

Yeah and that worries me. This team does better when challenged. When we go into a game expecting to win, we just don't play with any fire. We shall see.
Virginia was our kryptonite in 2015, and I really thought we had the team to win it that year. We played them 3 times in Omaha and lost twice, 1-0, and 6-5 (Pitcher that killed us both games was lefty Brandon Waddell). Then we did the same thing to TCU in 2017 when they had a stacked team. They had to face Florida 3 times and Alex Faedo twice and he was nearly unhittable that post season. TCU lost both games Faedo pitched 3-0.
So that is an interesting little recent history between UF/UVA/TCU. I know that the players were too young to care about that, but not the fans.

LSU vs Tennessee should be an absolute treat. I assume Andrew Lindsey starts for Tennessee. My worry is that Skenes dominated Tennessee earlier this year. Usually the team that gets beat in the first game fares better the 2nd time. And vice versa, when a great pitcher gets hit around the first time, usually the pitcher has the advantage next time. I think LSU wins against Tennessee and then beats Wake Forest in the winners bracket, and once more to be 3-0 and ends up winning it all against Florida in 3 games in a rematch of 2017. Bracket 2 is a gauntlet so it wouldn’t surprise me to see any of the 4 teams make it to the finals. Obviously i would never be biased in the biggest games of the year like the rest of the board by thinking LSU wins it all. Geaux Tigers

I tried to not think about College baseball, but I can't. Omaha is always exciting.
I am firmly in the UF camp ( The gf is a UF alum). Id be okay if LSU won, a coworker is a Tiger fan. I don't really want Wake, UVA, or UT to win, so outside the SEC id pull for Stanford.
anyways goodluck to everyone. its a fun time of year

If there is a God, someone will pay for Oral Roberts to win this.

Y’all’s pitching depth was absurd in 2017

They need to tell the Vol fans that it has moonshine in it.

Y’all check my math. But to tie it will cost $93,885 at $5 a shot. I know, pocket change for most here.

Think they made like $180k on shots alone last year. People start calling in hundreds of shots from across the country. It’s wild.

I think 50% of it went to charity. The other 50% got Rocco’s kids braces and the wife a BBL and fake tits.

Tennessee comes out of the losers bracket with their pitching depth to win bracket 1 after losing to Skenes in the opener.
Florida cruises through bracket 2 without a loss.
Florida goes 2-1 against the Vols in the final series. SEC!

Yeah shots are $5. $3 for the shot. $1 goes to local food bank. $1 goes to charity of choice of winner

You think lsu struggled with lefties this year? They hit over 300 it was a difference in like 4 points of what we hit against righties

- “ It was obvious that the left-handed pitchers accounted for LSU’s poor performance at the plate and that remained a concern going into the next game.”
