For both of you above I have a couple recommendations.

The Sourdough Journey

The Perfect Loaf

I tried the beginner's recipe on The Perfect Loaf and it turned out perfect. Lots of compliments from all the family this weekend.

After reading on that site and The Sourdough Journey, I'm certain I've always had my dough too warm and have been over proofing it. I'll go with that same recipe another time or 2 at least to make sure I'm replicating the process correctly then branch out to some of the others on there.

I appreciate the recommendation!
What do you use to identify them with? Just compare your pictures with others online or do you use something like iNaturalist?

No. Can you pay more? Yes. But guarantee it? Just no.

I’ve been looking at trucks for the past few weeks and have consistently found plenty with the exact options I want for cheaper than anything I’ve seen at a local dealership.
IRS.gov

It is a pretty easy and straightforward process. Depending on how much you owe and if you have been late with any other payments in recent years, it is often automatically accepted.

You could get rid of the toads, but in a few months you'll be right back here asking how to get rid of the above normal amount of bugs that have suddenly showed up.

It would be better to get them a better option within your yard to burrow. What's the landscape like around the patio and pad? Is it wet?

I spanked my oldest son the most. I was very hard on him. My youngest son I almost never had to do anything. I think I realized as I aged being more consistent was better than anything. I was raising my oldest the way I was raised and the better I got at parenting the less I had to use punishment or spanking.

You're not alone man. I was too hard on my oldest and it shows. Big time lack of confidence in the oldest compared to his little brother.

Wish I could go back in time and tell myself to chill out.
Every kid is different. A couple in this thread have said girls are easier than boys to potty train but it was the opposite for us. Our daughter was by far the hardest to potty train.

All 3 things I recommend have already been said:

1) Keep on top of the constipation. The constipation will compound the issues with wetting and potentially makes going to the bathroom a negative experience for him.

2) Pick a long weekend and let the boy go naked. We did it with my daughter and it helped a lot.

3) Let him pee outside. It will make it fun while also reinforcing the fact that he needs to remove underwear to use the bathroom instead of just going.

When we were potty training my 2nd oldest, we decided one day to let him pee outside. Had his older brother show him how to go pee on a fence. We have a .5 acre lot with a privacy fence all around the backyard. The younger son managed to make it 3/4 of the way around the backyard. He'd pee, take 3-4 steps, stop, pee again, and repeat. I don't know how he had that much pee in him.

Just get a gas generator and take it all the way apart. Once you get it back together and functioning, that'll teach you just about everything you need to know.

Sounds ridiculous, but it really isnt. That's how I learned.

I learned the most about small engines when a roommate years back bought a gas golf cart that had thrown a rod. We spent a week breaking it down and putting it back together. It was awesome when we got it back running and took the governor off.

I'll check it out, thanks!

I'm pretty sure my dad bought our first ever home computer back in 1995 or 1996 just so he could play Command & Conquer.

I've been trying to bake my own for a while now. I haven't gotten bulk fermentation timing down right though. I think I was going way too long at first because everything I read said 8-12 hours. That was during the summer so I've got to imagine it was over proofed. I tried a few more during the winter and most likely under proofed due to not taking temps into consideration.

I've never really noticed a loaf double in size like is always described. I need to set aside a weekend and just do a ton of them at once. Let them go various amounts of time and compare the final product.

That being said, I have found a damn good cinnamon roll recipe that my wife loves, and she isn't a big sweets person.
I've been wanting to try a sourdough crust but I've got my current recipe nailed down so I've been hesitant to try.

A buddy of mine told me about the PizzApp. You put in a couple of variables and it spits out the flour, water, salt, and yeast/starter weights. I haven't tried it yet though.

I get the idea behind this

My problem with this is that it takes teachers jobs away. I’m not ok with having a service like this that will eventually take most teachers jobs

You wouldn't see teachers replaced, but their roles would change. A decent bit of a teacher's job is lesson planning. This seems to remove that, along with some instruction.

Even in the OPs quotes, it says that teachers shifted to more hands on time with students. If I had to guess, teachers would be working more with kids who aren't grasping concepts at first and being more involved with hands on projects like science experiments or something similar.

(Enter OT teacher/hands on joke here)

Mars looking pretty good now.
Will Wade going to NC State reminds me of Nick Saban going to Alabama in one way.

I’ve always thought it was the football fans that made our fan base so irrational.

It’s definitely the basketball fans though.

I was only able to sneak 5 into the landscape without my wife noticing.
I planted some while dressing up the flower beds 2 weekends ago. Maybe 3 days later I went to water them and there was already a monarch butterfly on it.

Crazy how quick they are to find them.

re: Where to set fence posts???

If it were me, I'd go inside the property line.

You aren't going to miss the little bit of area you lose and if your neighbor builds a fence, they are most likely just going to tie into yours so they don't have to build that section.

I think the sausage is what sets a lot of Louisiana cuisine apart.

I've always thought that the ingredient with the biggest impact for a gumbo or jambalaya is the sausage.

I lived in Florida for a couple of years and for a while couldn't get a decent sausage. I tried Manda once and didn't care for it at all. After my first couple of months, I started loading up an ice chest full of sausage and boudin any time I visit home.

One time we had a cook off for my unit. Winner for each category got a free squadron t-shirt and an engraved beer mug. I entered some frozen, 3 month old boudin I had sitting in the back of my freezer as a side item. The judges liked it so much, they bumped it to the main dish category and gave me 1st place.
