Bated breath?
Pretty sure you spazzed out on a post of in the chicken fake/bogus title thread. You went for about 5 pages not being able to comprehend. I mean, OVER AND OVER.
I proved you wrong and then you got quiet as a church mouse.
Oh child. These things are easy to find, but you like to avoid the truth. You won’t take criticism as it is meant. You just ignore it when you’re wrong. Happens a lot, my boy.
Damn you’re dumb.

It seems you do know know the truth when faced with it. The "Fake" titles are no such thing but you seem to have a problem with the people who awarded it. But I am sure you will have a interesting and incorrect retort.
You seem to have a problem researching facts or conveniently ignoring them. I do realize that many people on here (like you) are unable to comprehend the truth so once I have said my piece and corrected them a few times I stop. There is no need to go on once you have been proven them to be a couyon.
I do not ignore anything, but I do have a life and I am living it. Sports boards are fun, especially correcting the misinformation but they are not my life. You seem to have a problem with both.
I await your answer, and will read it and answer it when I come back. Please think before posting though.
- calling me dumb.....
By the way, I am on the Politics Board or the O-T board more then here so it might take a while before I see it.

Just like y'all saying the SEC was not highly regarded in sports (which is laughable), the academic reputation of the SEC is also far better than people around the country think. Just for example, Huntsville Alabama got man to the moon and back. There is a reason why Huntsville also is the top choice for the new Space Command.

Wait. You didn’t even see it, yet go into the ^above diatribe about it. Then you say you await to see it. I bet you’ve already convinced yourself you were correct.

All of these schools could have waltzed into the SEC just as they would have waltzed into the Pac 10 (or even the Big Ten) if they all agreed thats what should happen as a package.
In 2010, the important factor was that Texas did not want to join the SEC. They have really only been dragged kicking and screaming into the idea now because of the continued dominance of the conference over the past decade.
Texas believed that there was more prestige in being a member of the Pac 10 or Big Ten and therefore, the deal to join the Pac 10 was the package they eventually tried to work out with that conference, which later fell apart, partially because I think certain parties (like A&M, the Pac 12 itself, and even Colorado) had a slightly different vision than Texas did at that time. Oklahoma's preference was that they should continue a partnership with Texas, which had basically been a pretty large boon to them, and doubly so since the creation of the Big 12.

This isn't exactly true, the problem was with Boren, who was OU's President at the time. He wouldn't go to the SEC without Oklahoma State, since he had strong ties with them and was former Governor and Senator of Oklahoma. It had nothing to do with A&M.

You mean like right here?
The smertest thing I’ve ever seen you do is “crickets” that particular thread when for 7 pages, you were a complete imbecile. I tried multiple times to get you to admit you never went back and read.
And you’re doing it……again

Money talks and OU finally saw the writing on the wall.
With the NIL and SEC ESPN team payout, it was inevitable for them to reach out to the SEC. SEC teams make more money than anyone in college football.
The SEC ESPN payout deal wasn’t a thing back in 2010.
The Big 12s ultimate demise was the previous commissioners “let’s stay at 10 teams” approach. Looking back, it was the wrong call and it cost the Big 12 in 2014 when they were left out of the CFP.
The Big 12 should have been aggressive and reached out to Louisville and BYU early on for example, but instead they stayed on the sidelines and here we are today.

OU was scared that Texas would cancel their annual game over it
That never was, nor will it ever be, a possibility. Over 80% of that rivalry was played with the teams in different conferences. They'd make it work no matter who ended up where. The failed Big XII financial experiment just made the scheduling a bit more convenient in some ways. That's it.
quote:
Going to the SEC without that game...
Was never a possibility. If we'd gone to the SEC back then, we still would have had that rivalry game on both our schedules. Even Boren, as big of an idiot as he was in this regards, understood this. I think his mistake was thinking that the OUT package being in the same conference was somehow linked to the importance of that game to both programs. He was wrong. It's a nice-to-have at best.

Uh, maybe because the Redstone Arsenal (now MSFC) was a military base first, going back to artillery times. Think JSC (the titular head of manned spaceflight program) would be picked for a military space post?

Jesus Christ, did you look at what I posted before you answered at the end of that "7 pages".....
You continued to argue even after proven wrong. There is no sense arguing with you because facts are meaningless to you and you never even bother to look at them, so I stopped.
If you are that way over sports, I will repeat a statement I put in the post
It must be hard to go through life so oblivious to what you are doing. Please God do not have a job that is important to people's lives or welfare, they will die.
I will ask one last question, is your IEP up to date?
Like you said, RANT one of your very own... God Help You
But I do like laughing at him......
