Should have played the second game when we had the window last night. Instead we punked out, simple as that. Last night was a light drizzle from 7-10 could have easily got at least 5 innings in there, but instead we bitched out. I absolutely hate our admin and staff, I wanted that rubber match regardless if we win or lost.

As someone who was at the game it definitely was not a light drizzle. STFU and stop trying to stir shite up.

Playing 5 innings and then it getting called would have pissed even more people off

This constant insinuation that it was only SC officials who made the call to cancel the game is mind bottling.

It takes agreement between the 2 schools for a game to get cancelled.

Also I came from Columbia to Augusta yesterday and the weather has absolutely sucked since 8pm last night.

Yes and if one school doesn’t want to play how can the two schools agree?

Sure. But the “South Carolina is a bunch of pussies” talk is over the top.

It’s not like they dodged their hated rivals or covid’ed out of a one-time bowl game at the end of the year.

My understanding is the SEC would then make the call when schools are at an impasse.

Given that the league didn’t have to make a decision means all parties agreed not to play.

I don’t think a full game would have been played if it had started at 6pm, but luckily the decision didn’t fall to me because LSU agreed not to play.

How do you figure this? If they had started the 3rd game and it gets called at any point, well at least they tried. Not to at at the least make a genuine attempt to get the game in was a mistake IMO. Oh well it is what it is. Hopefully that missed game doesn't have impact on either team at the end of the year.

The home team can only delay a game.

From the SEC rules:

quote:

If a contest is postponed prior to its start for any reason, the two participating institutions, in consultation with the Commissioner or his/her designee, shall attempt to reschedule the game at a later time or date. If the contest cannot be rescheduled, the Commissioner shall cancel the contest.

I guess this means the head Ump ultimately made the call to cancel.
