Big Ten: 16 million more per team annually than SEC and they get to negotiate a new and bigger deal 4 years earlier than the SEC. Plus exposure on CBS, FOX, and NBC.

The SEC’s deal is so bad, we are only getting 19 million more per team than what the Big 12 is getting. How on earth does a league with Alabama, Texas, OU, LSU, Florida, Auburn, Tennessee, Georgia, and aTm only get 19 mil more than a league whose best program is TCU?

Sankey made a massive mistake in signing this new deal just before adding OU and Texas. All ESPN is giving us is pro rata value for adding two of the top 10 brands in football.

Another long term shitty deal we will regret for a decade just like the old CBS deal paying us pennies for the most marketable games in the nation each week.

SEC to ESPN was a huge deal.

The avarice of this nation is truly astounding to behold.

The biggish 10 deal is unsustainable. There just isn’t that much of a market for there products.

The ACC laughs heartily at your complaints about shitty deals.

They deserve their shitty deal with only 2 nationally marketable football programs. The SEC has 9 programs that habitually land top 10 caliber classes and draw national attention. The ratings the SEC draws speak for themselves and yet we continue to be underpaid for them.

No they aren't.

The BIG XII new media deal comes out to about $31 million per school and the SEC new deal comes to around $65 million+ per school.

Where are you getting your numbers?

Say what?

The B1G also has an escalation clause for adding new teams that the SEC does not have.

I agree. ESPN GameDay was terrible this weekend in comparison to the CBS and TNT coverage. It's bias and storytelling.

WTF are you talking about? Our deal has us passing the B1G significantly after 2025.

idk but that’s a big bump in 2025 which I’m assuming is the bump for Texas and Oklahoma and will get moved to 2024.. maybe?

either way this chart doesn’t look as gloomy as the OP states.. and it’s a good thing imo that the B1G will getting the next deal before us.. we will know the market when we negotiate

How does the media deal work? Is it just football and basketball? Was trying to research media rights a little this weekend and didn’t get very far.

Here’s a thread from someone that reworked the Navigate numbers after USC/UCLA leave for the Big 10 in 2024. Shows pretty good parity between SEC and Big 10, at least in the long term. The rest of the conferences suffer: LINK
