This Alabama basketball team is the most universally hated team since __________.

First of all, I want to make it known that I fully recognize that Alabama has been the best basketball team in the country this year, is well deserving of the top overall seed, and has a great chance at making the Final Four and winning it all. I know that the first 10 posts in this thread are gonna be Bama fans downvoting and saying things like “cope” and “melt”, but I’ve been thinking…what other sports teams have had the entire country outside of their fanbase pulling against them?
My first thought was the post-cheating scandal Houston Astros, but they kinda got a free pass playing in empty stadiums in 2020. What say tSECRant? Who are some of the other most universally hated teams in history?

Maybe on a place like this board, but regular season CBB is pretty niche and while this is a drama-filled story I don't think it's getting that much attention outside of dedicated basketball fans (and especially SEC fans).
I want Alabama to get a little comeuppance too, but I just don't know that the hatred is there right now. I do think as the country focuses on the tournament and pays more attention to Alabama and the story, there could be a strong bias against them among the general public if they make it deep.
