Or maybe they know that he didn’t commit a crime. Just throwing that out there. They aren’t going to get rid of their coach and best player just because Dan Wetzel says they should.

When the press starts using that angle? Yeah he gone. Or at least his reputation is so tainted that the program is screwed for the near future.

Opposing coaches gonna tell momma that Nate turns a blind eye to their involvement in gun shoot outs of the players get him money and wins.

Nothing is going to happen to either of them. This hasn’t been a secret to the ad - and this has been common knowledge in the ad. This was handled properly and above board. Sorry but this run isn’t ending

There was never going to be run. '23 Bama is '22 Auburn.

But it's a damn joke to say this was above board. The whole department aided and abetted a coverup.

If they knew this was going to come out then I'd have to think Oats would have come up with a decently crafted PR statement rather than the crap he put out there.

How is the NCAA gonna feel about Miller and all the heat around this being the poster child for its cash cow called March Madness? Won’t be a good look for, them. If Bama doesn’t cave, but they will, Oats and company can expect a Colonoscopy from NCAA investigators

Now that I agree with. Either the sports information director shite the bed, or Nate went full Michael Scott in that statement.

What’s the appropriate discipline for providing a handgun to someone that they later use to murder someone?

Bama has already cowered. Oates had to release a follow up statement for damage control.

It’s not just one reporter, it’s a multitude of people, any person with a brain can see if Miller doesn’t bring the gun that no one gets shot. He did commit a crime by the letter of the law it was swept under the rug by the DA and UA admins. I imagine the public records request will come flying in by tomorrow,

In fairness, it was not wise to completely sit on this. It's one thing to wait a few days. The cops would probably prefer it. But once the accused had lawyers and were arraigned, you're not affecting the investigation by making a statement.

The idea that the school was trying to cover up something that was going to come up in the preliminary hearing is nonsensical. At the same time, the school had to know that this would be the huge news out of the prelim. Why wait to let it come out in this manner?

Either you get rid of him because of bad PR, or do nothing because he didn’t commit a crime. There’s really no middle ground. They aren’t getting rid of him, so that leaves one other option.

You think commission of a crime is the only reason a student athlete or a coach should be disciplined? WTF is wrong with Alabama fans? Are y’all such sycophantic that you fail to see the issue with that?

This is called a false dichotomy. Thanks for sharing.

But it looks like he may have committed a crime. Which begs the question, was he not charged because he is Bama's star freshman?

Nate Oates has been the “brutally honest” borderline autistic interview coach for years. It finally caught up to him. People excuse it when he’s talking about an opposing coach or team saying it’s refreshing to not hear coach speak.

He just said the truth out loud that they didn’t care what he got into off the court as long as he’s not arrested earlier today.

What do you think his punishment should be?
