You have no idea what you are talking about

quote:Firstly, I didn't call you a troll, nor do I consider you a regular, which I specifically referred to. Also, I've got no problem with differing opinions, IF they don't become obsessive, and ridiculously continuous. That led me to the comment concerning a lack of attention given to such posts which might dampen the enthusiasm of the poster.
Maybe I’m one of the people you labeled a troll, whatever that means. I’m not really sure. I’ve been lurking here, reading posts, for years and I post every so often, usually in game threads, but not that often. I rarely read and never post on the rant.
I’ve made it obvious I am in the camp that thinks Saban could have done much much better with both of these hires, especially with the DC. I honestly do not believe these hires are upgrades and are lateral moves at best. And I find all this talk of “I’m beginning to like these hires” or “we will have to just wait and see how they do” or “how can you be upset they haven’t called a play for Alabama” talk ridiculous. Obviously they both have a history of work you can look at with your own eyes that tells you what they are capable of. When you have to start making excuses like they did that with less talent, but with our players they can get us back to where we need to be, it just tells me my opinion is probably accurate.
I guess I thought this was a place where I could at least express my opinion and viewpoint, and at least be able to discuss my take on these hires, no matter if it was in opposition to the majority of people on here, and I thought that based on how I’ve observed the board over the years. Perhaps I wasn’t paying close enough attention.
Because now it appears that certain posters want to weed out anyone who has opinions that are in opposition to theirs. I’ve read multiple comments where people say it makes the board unbearable to have to read these comments, even though I’m not really sure how reading something you don’t agree with can be that unbearable. And now in this thread it’s become, just don’t respond to them and they will go away.
Is that what the team boards are supposed to be? A hive mind of sunshine pumpers that have positive reactions to a statement from a talking head, or an old QB on a radio show, or the new hires girlfriend posting a picture of a hat? Maybe expressing a different opinion than the majority makes me a troll, I don’t know, maybe I don’t get to decide that. Either way I’ll follow the lead of Pastor Mike and I’ll stop talking about how much of a mistake these hires are and how much I hope I’m proven wrong.
If you have,in deed, been a reader for any length of time, I'm confident that you've noticed a small number of "regulars" who are either constantly negative, or reply in a juvenile manner. If I'm "out of line" with something I've posted, then I've got no problem with being called on it. If it can't be resolved, I'll simply turn and go another way.
PS- Thank God we don't ALL have to live with each other!

I'm not trying to buy or sell Steele or Rees. My opinion is worth no more than anyone's.
I'm more eager to see what the new Co-ords roll out in their game plans, than what their resumes look like. I trust CNS to have done his due diligence. Plus I think it is way too premature for fans to be concluding he's lost it.
Saban's going back to what made him so successful, and what Kirby's "killing it" with. "Make'em quit" football!...and I welcome it with open arms!

Eli Goldfinger is another negative nancy

Do people who view themselves as a well adjusted adults that have come to the realization their true value and self esteem lies in their own accomplishments think it is appropriate to call other people juvenile? Doesn’t that kind of name calling negate the self appointed title of well adjusted adult?
That’s what I really don’t get here, if you disagree with what someone writes that’s one thing, but to call them names to bolster your disagreement seems cheap.
And to be clear this applies to a fairly significant number of posters and not any one individual.
What is it with people these days thinking that the tu quoque, regardless of how strained it may be, is some kind of mic drop riposte?

He doesn't post on the Bama board often, but I don't recall him posting anything other than very negative and stupid takes. It appears his main goal is to trigger other posters.

He posts on the rant, and he's gotta be a Tide troll...probably an Auburn guy.

Yep. There are some obvious posters/trolls, etc. I never respond to on the Rant and here. They are still there only because people respond to the shite.

That's where I'm at as well. I think we are going back to playing smash mouth..

Shaft and shooco are probably the same person.

Tier-1: Eli Goldfinger, Shaft Williams, Shocco
-- Post stupid negative takes, provoke long heated arguments and crudely lash out in anger at posters who disagree with them.

He is no Bama fan. Odds are he has a Loseranna area code.

whether he's a troll or real, shaft absolutely blows at posting on message boards. it's the sheer volume of bad posts he makes that gets you. has a tendency to just completely take over threads with his inane arguments. really hard to ignore.

One reason why you are often panned is that you have shown very poor analytical capacity. Maybe it is because you are so emotionally invested that it hinders you or you just don't have the ability to understand context and nuance.
It is frustrating answering many of your concerns when you just ignore them or don't understand. The only capacity you have shown is to mechanically quote a few stats that don't mean much without context. When you are shown more sophisticated stats that take into account highly relevant circumstances like game score (this ignores that stats generated when the game is out of reach), competition level, etc., you don't even acknowledge it but in a subsequent post you bring out the same old meaningless stats that few use anymore. That's just one example.
You don't seem that slow in general which makes people think that you are playing dumb, thus you might be a troll (not a fan of Alabama but someone playing with the board just for fun or to discourage the fan base or provide fodder to the media who read boards like this to gauge a fan base's state of mind).

Shocco is like if my negative, intrusive thoughts (aka the ones I don't share) were a person. I do think there's a place for him here though, and I do think he's legit.
The other two generally do nothing but stir the pot, along with a few others named and unnamed

Shaft overplayed his hand the past few months. That’s very obviously just a troll account.
