Wow

Source: #Washington offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb will remain with UW after meeting with Nick Saban about Alabama’s OC job Monday in Tuscaloosa. Grubb was a top target at Bama but will stay with the Huskies.

I like the Wake OC. Any interest there?

Why doesn’t anyone want to come work for Alabama? What does Alabama do now for an OC?

Going to be tough to make these hires with Saban likely coaching his last season. Long term security just isn’t there.

You know I think there’s more to it than Grubb just straight up turning Nick down, but the title is catchy so I guess we will run with that.

We don’t even know if he was offered yet just fan speculation but this is the quietest coordinator search I remember. I think internet insiders are just throwing shite against the wall at this point. No one on Bama radio knows anything either. Just lots of speculation.

Not surprising.
A lot of assistants can see the program is deteriorating now.
They don't want their emerging brand soiled by being Saban's scapegoat.

He’s been mentioned but again this is fans on the net throwing crap against a wall hoping it sticks.

I dont' know anything about the guy, but some of the more esteemed and level headed bama posters really wanted him so the fact he isn't coming can only be a good thing for the rest of hte league, IMO.

Should've done it last year with BY returning. It's a much harder sell when the option of next quarterback either has no experience or can't make a pass

We all know it’ll be Kirby as OC. Nick wouldn’t let him switch to offense so he went and won 2 NC’s on his own to prove a point to Nick. Nick’s hand has been forced so Kirby will finally get to be OC at Bama.

Some did but I don’t know how many fans knew anything about him until he was mentioned. I didn’t watch any Washington football so what would I know. He may be great.

Wonder if it’s related to location or not or family. Washington state is a nice location.
I prefer the Great Plains and south, but could easily enjoy Washington state.

Grubb is in his late 40's and likely looking for a spot for the next 5-7 years+.
If that is the case, Saban isn't the best bet since he is approaching 72 years old.
