Georgia
4 claimed national titles
4 unclaimed national titles
16 conference titles (14 SEC Titles)
868 overall wins
37-21-3 bowl record
2 Heisman winners
39 All-Americans
LSU
4 claimed national titles
4 unclaimed national titles
16 conference titles (12 SEC Titles)
831 overall wins
30-24-1 bowl record
2 Heisman winners
39 All-Americans
Besides a few thing like bowl record and overall wins the two programs are damn near identical, although LSU has found a large part of their success in the past two decades

So has Georgia. They've won 4/14 SEC titles and half of their national titles since 2002.

Throw in the Vols as well.

For all practical purposes the two programs share a lot of commonality in their achievements, etc. But, I have to admit....I do love the LSU spirit of their band and fans!! LSU's my second-favorite SEC program after the Dawgs, despite how I kid and mess with them here on the board. :)

FIFY
These are the only conference titles for each school.SIAA and Southern Conference did not award conference titles when UGA and LSU were members.

Each have one lost title game appearance in the era of actual NC games, too. It's kind of funny how two years ago, none of these comparisons could've held water thanks to the won NCs being the most weighted metric, but here we are.
LSU's strangehold on baseball in the 90s and continued success in the 2000s puts their athletic program on another level, though. Also, for better or worse, the fans are just fricking crazier. No one melts harder after a loss or parties/shite talks harder after a win than LSU.

Scary how close UGA and LSU are historically.

Both schools have great mascots that have since been pilfered by lesser institutions seeking to emulate them.
Neither Georgia nor LSU were truly the first schools to use "Bulldogs" and "Tigers," but they are certainly the most relevant ones to bear those names. And the vast majority of schools that harbor those same mascots copied them from UGA and LSU (no offense to Yale or Princeton, the original inspos).

That’s honorable.
Leaving 4 titles apiece on the table to not appear desperate.
LSU and Uga don’t retroclaim.
Others do.

Another similarity is both are in states with great football talent and are without another in-state SEC school to compete against for recruits.
Both of their main historical rivals Tulane and Georgia Tech were once in the SEC.
