All three were massive busts but at least Cowart has stuck around as a rotational piece for many years. That upper tier of that class was loaded with future NFL stars - LINK

Cristobal hasn’t really put anything together on the field at Oregon or Miami but he recruits his balls off

Miami is throwing bags and even acknowledging it in their flip graphics. They have croots standing next to bundles of cash.

The old U is back baby.

To be fair, I don’t think Miami is making the flip graphics

But you’re right. They’re very comfortable with that narrative

my concern is that outside of two wins over Bama a decade ago, Freezus hasn't really accomplished anything either

Cristobal at least has a couple of P5 championships, a NY6 bowl victory, and a top 5 finish on his resume

Freeze went to a couple sugar bowls. And was 4th and 25 away from going to the SEC.

not wanting to derail the thread, but on the face of it Cristobal > Freezus

admittedly that's a low bar

Cristobal is a .500 head coach. Freeze has won everywhere he’s been.

Yeah Freeze is the new Pearl now imo. We gave him a shot and he is/will be working his butt off and return the favor. If he has one more snafu either external or internal, he is going to be relegated to Malzahn type coaching jobs like UCF. If we can stack even a couple of top ten classes, I think he will prove to be successful. I am just plain interested in finding out what he can do with a SEC caliber roster.
