Pete Golding and BoB are still employed by the University of Alabama. Absolutely disgusting. Updates to come.

I will be shocked if Golding is let go before 2024.

O’Brien is not going anywhere until the NFL season is over.

I think we are stuck with Golding. I mean there is absolute zero interest from other schools wanting him. Not even any fake online rumors. Nothing.

Pete's ability to find another job has nothing to do with whether or not Saban tells him to do so.

Will Saban straight up fire him? Wouldn't today been the day to do that?

Yeah don’t expect anything now or for a couple weeks, just bored and messing around. BoB seems destined to end up back in New England, Golding the one I’m worried about.

Fact: If Saban keep Golding, he thinks Golding is doing a great job. > If Saban thinks this, he has serious issues. If Saban just doesn't give a damn enough to fire Golding, Saban has serious issues....So either way, if he keeps Golding, Saban has serious issues which is hurting the team......Saban better hope he hires an OC that can take up Goldings slack if he keeps that drunk turd.

I think we wake up a week after Black Monday in the NFL and see a story about BoB being hired as an assistant somewhere.
Don’t have the slightest clue about what will happen with Golding.

I think he’ll stay until his contract is up next year.

Or Saban is honoring a contract. Maybe Golding gets moved to another position and a nes DC comes in!!

Sure, half the coaches that "found another job" were fired by Saban.

When they're told, and when it's announced are different things.

I have no inside knowledge, but this would be my guess. Golding is a solid recruiter and apparently good at analysis. Make him assistant head coach or some other title like we’ve seen before for guys that have value but can’t be coordinating, and bring in someone to take over the defense. Keep him around to do what he’s good at and honor the contract while moving the defense over to someone who’s better at play calling.

Auburn hiring Freeze wrote the checks that will bring back Bo Davis and Jeremy Pruitt imo.

Two more weeks and we will learn how Nick Saban views his coaching staff. We might be surprised by goes and who stays.

There should not be any disagreements about BoB and PG. Both need to be replaced, period. Whether they are fired or not is irrelevant (BoB has an expiring contract so there's no need to fire him). Saban has set a standard at Alabama and neither of our current coordinators is meeting that standard.
To make it very simple we can remind ourselves of the Tennessee game:
- Alabama gave up 567 (!) yards;
- Alabama gave up seven (7!) touchdowns;
- Alabama committed seventeen (17!) penalties;
- Alabama gave up the most points since 1907.
These are unacceptable numbers for a Saban coached team. And it's not as if our OC and DC are new on the job, need to learn, etc. They're veteran coaches. Golding has been on staff since 2018 and has been DC (officially) since February 2019. Of course, his defences have not always been as bad as against 10RC, but he's not going to all of a sudden improve. So, let's move on. BoB can go to the Pats or whatever he wants and PG needs to be relocated.

The problem is that Golding is still under contract, as he reminded us of prior to the Sugar Bowl (when asked if he expected to return):
The good part is that PG referred to his contractual situation, which is not a good sign. In my opinion you make such a referrence when you're in trouble. And he should be in trouble, for what he has produced in terms of defences.
Considering how Saban treats his staff, PG will not be fired (as was mentioned here). As I see it, the options are:
(a) Saban somehow finds PG a head coaching job somewhere.
(b) Saban creates a new position for PG, which is not a complete demotion, at least not optically (like assistent HC), and let's him take over as safeties coach (to replace Charles Kelly), thus paving the way for Jeremy Pruitt.
(c) Saban hires Pruitt as ILB coach and makes him co-defensive coordinator, but effectively let's Pruitt take over as DC (similar to the situation with Tosh Lupoi and PG in 2018, but this time the other way around).
My preferred choice involves any option that leads to Pruitt becoming DC and ILB coach.

Saban is loyalty to a fault. Even if others are hurt in the process.
