A hs state championship game in Oklahoma. Temp was 0 and teams played to a 0-0 tie. That was back before overtime. Even on penetration, even on first downs, one team had 5 yards more total offense.

First Indy Bowl. McNeese vs Tulsa. Night game, 18 degrees and sleeting. Sent the women and kids home at halftime. Think about 200 fans were still in stadium at final horn for a thrilling McNeese win

2000 Alabama vs Auburn in Tuscaloosa

Mid 30s with heavy sleet at kickoff which turned into a steady rain with temps in the mid to upper 30s. Would have been more tolerable if it had been in the upper 20s with snow instead. That and a miserable Alabama team that year that lost to Auburn 9-0 that day.

This was the coldest game I've ever been to, and it isn't close. The 1992 SEC Championship was cold, but this was MUCH colder. Not only was the temperature colder than the SECCG, it was also raining/sleeting during the game. I was wet, freezing, and VT blew our asses out.

Back in those days we never left games early no matter the score. That game we left in the 4th quarter and went to get food. The most exciting part of that game was leaving the stadium. It was miserable.

1985 Liberty Bowl LSU vs Baylor.

Night game and 19 degrees at kickoff.

The Tigers did exactly nothing to keep us warm either. Had to keep my tuba mouthpiece in my pocket to keep it from sticking to my face.

That was the same day as the State vs Arkansas game in Starkville. It did the same exact thing, but snowed a little early, then sleet, and finally rain and 35 degrees. I wasn't prepared at all. It was supposed to clear out and get to 50. It didn't, and I had no rain gear and only a long sleeve tshirt and jeans. At halftime I got an order of nachos with extra jalapeños without a drink in order to get warm. To make it worse State could've won the West, but blew a 10 point lead to a 4-5 Arkansas team. Had a game winning, very makeable FG blocked on the last play, and then lost in OT. At that point I didn't care I just wanted heat and to get off my wet socks. About a month later I attended the Blizzard Bowl in Shreveport between us and the Aggies. Even though it was colder, 27 and snow instead of 35 and rain is much warmer. Another OT game, but the good guys won this one.

07-Nov-1991. A&M/TCU in Fort Worth. Temp was mid-20s and wind was blowing about 20mph. It was so cold that the concession stands ran out of coffee and hot chocolate by halftime.

TCU fans left early, as you can see in the GIF/clip.

Then came The Hit. McPherson was unconscious on the field for almost half an hour, as everyone just stood around and froze half to death.

A&M vs. tu 1982. Probably in the 30s with a light rain. Didn’t help that my date didn’t have a coat so I gave her mine.

Add to that it was a beat down. It is why I still hate the Eyes of Texas.

1983 Peach Bowl, at Fulton Co Stadium. UNC-FSU...

Went alone, last minute,
bought a ticket at gate for $8...

Was mid/upper teens and all 3,000 of us moved around as the game progressed to stay in sun.

I went with my dad and some other family to Baton Rouge for the Bama-LSU game in 1979. I was 14. Cold drizzly rain all night. It was so miserable, my mom and aunt went back out to our van in the parking lot. Bama won 3-0.

Funny that you mention that.

When I asked my then-girlfriend whether she wanted to go to the A&M/TCU game, she thought I was inviting her to a basketball game. She too did not bring a warm coat. I too ended up freezing because I gave mine to her. Fortunately, I DID know where we were going, so I was wearing several layers.

I went to a NFL game with my uncle in Cleveland vs the 49ers back in late 2000’s. I can’t remember the temperature, but I remember being miserable with wind chill blowing off Lake Erie in late December. It gave me a new respect for Cleveland fans, as they packed the stadium even though their team sucked, and it was miserable weather.
