Starkville yeah... UMMC is a fantastic state of the art hospital. Would definitely trust going there.

If we get there somewhere around that 10 minute mark we'll probably get your heart started back and you might even start breathing again but we got back a house plant. You're never going to wake up.

What deeprig said tho can stretch that out to about 1/2 an hour. Bi "if" is if the hospital is top in heart which may limit to larger cities. .5M MSA and up.

I'm coming to this thread relatively late, and I guess I can just skip the first 16 pages and hope that the "clot shot" talk has died down?

Best CPR in the world doesn’t do anything for a patient that’s been down for over 10 minutes.

But I've never seen a human go to a vet for care. Just saying.

My neighbor had my vet wife remove her surgery stitches so she didn't have the pay the $1000 for her "real doctor" to do it.

So now you have heard of it.

Some people it’s genetic. Out of my 4 grandparents 3 are alive. My grandfather who is a doctor and exercises/eats well. He is healthy. His wife died from Alzheimer’s and she was a health freak her whole life. The first one to die was the healthiest of all 4.

My other 2 have chain smoked since they were 16 years old and eat terrible. Grandfather recently was hit by an 18 wheeler in his Buick. Was on a vent. Didn’t think he would make it. Took him off vent and gave him 50/50 odds. He walked out a month later, told my uncle in his mind laying there all he could think was he didn’t want to die and he wanted a Big Mac and cigarette they’re both in their 80s.

I knew a guy who lived to be 90 and drank PBR from the time he woke up till time he went to bed. Kept a 6 pack by his bed in case he woke up at night. Did he die of liver disease? Nope.

Some people just are prone to certain diseases and some you can’t kill. It’s crazy

I've never heard of paying $1000 for sutures to be taken out. FYI it's bundled with the payment for the surgery. Should be free.

Dafuq? Charge for removal of stitches? Something smells funny. The postop visit is typically within the global period of surgery with no additional charge. Your neighbor was probably just not wanting to take time out of her day to go back to the doctor

Point is if you’re around a person going into arrest you can administer CPR during that 10 minutes to keep the blood and oxygen moving so they don’t go brain dead.

Wanting to avoid paying on bill most likely. I'm sure the vet neighbor was totally not annoyed to do some free shite for a cheapskate neighbor who saved $0 by making him work on his off time.

Unless he's banging the wife. Then it would be a good excuse to "get some stitches out and save a $1000". I'll bet it took a couple of hours to make sure it was done right.
