I felt similar upon first watch but 2nd & 3rd I was digging it. A few in this thread have stated they have no desire to rewatch it. I didn't either, none, but 10 years later, due to my sons wanting to watch it, I've watched it 3 times since.
I missed a bit the first time & most who have rewatched it claim so too. To me it's a movie you definitely have to be in the right head space.

Yes! It looks like someone took a video camera back to the 16th century & recorded them which I thought was great.
Some critics didnt like it & he was criticized for it, but I thought Thomas Mauch & the cinematography were outstanding.
